Capital Models - Leith Dockers First Set Initial Treatment Mix

Up reasonably early...

Second day of the weekend...

And gig day...

Coffee...

...and listening back to the recordings of previous Capital Models gigs to hear what nonsense I was spouting between the songs, to give me some ideas for this afternoon...

At 10:20, took Anne round to her mum's - Anne making sure her mum got off to church ok...

I drove on and down to the Leith Dockers Club...

Keith and Paul were already there and we commenced the load in and set up...

John B arrived with his guitars and boxes of magic tricks and the monitor system...

Last but not least, Johnny W and Moira arrived with the drum kit...

...and soon, we were ready to soundcheck...

I'd factored in an hour for us to set up and soundcheck - just as well we gave ourselves two hours, as we finished just around 1, start time for the afternoon's proceedings...

A good appreciative crowd was in attendance for what was, in effect, our full set up rehearsal for the Wedding Gig on my birthday on 4th May...

No vocal monitor, sadly but we struggled on!

And the reception was top...

...for a very enjoyable gig to play...

In all, four sets and over 40 songs were delivered...

A long afternoon but some were in attendance for the full duration - up dancing and everything and enjoying the pocket friendly bar prices too...

For posterity, here was the mix...

At 6, the take down and load out...

Some chat and thanks given to attendees and home with Anne via the New Happy Palace for a celebratory Kung Po Chicken for the master of ceremonies...

Later, the day's recording uploaded to the system, only to find vastly over recorded vocals - due to the necessity to have them boosted re the sound in the room...

Ooofft...

Much to be done to salvage this...

Some initial work done on the first set pre bed, creating a track with the vocals removed in order to be able to boost the instruments and so, a first rough mix accompanied me to bed...

A top day, in fact, a Top of the Pops day (pic by Moira)....

Highlight of the Day : Performing...
