Another day of music "work"...

But first, some monochrome views...

The beast was ready for action...

This morning, I remastered the first three CBQ song albums, "Callingstill" (1997) - a 3CD set, "Doveloveshawk" (1999) and "Ampersand" (2002)...

Which was enjoyable - although I was kind of remastering remasters when it came to the first of these and perhaps I ought to be re-ripping WAVs from the original CDs...

Anyway, more things were discovered on the MiniDiscs brought down from the attic yesterday, including a couple of Crazy Wisdom things we recorded out at Silverburn in, I think, 1998, that I didn't even think actually existed...

So that was good...

Tonight (post some afternoon rehearsing - which seemed to have zero bearing on the inevitable cock ups tonight), I was off out to Out of the Bedroom yet again - tonight was No 767...

Jim Igoe's wife, Sheena, who was at the gig on Sunday, passed on her late father's QoS scarf to me via Jim...

I will need to take care of that...

Here, tonight's performers...

Some poetry first of all from Majk Stokes, pronounced "Mike", our compere for the night - including one particularly entertaining one about Thunderbirds...

He was followed by Ally Duncan - I saw him a few weeks ago and he was equally impressive tonight...

Then, two more Mike's kind of rocked out...

Mike Wheeler...

...and Mike Kemp...

...and then, it was time for the first break...

...which was followed by Mr CBQ, playing "Very Small" from "Deeperdown" (2005), Starting to Worry" from "Ersatzreal" (2007) and Sombre Reptiles' "The Western Edge" from "Liverysilver" (1991) - all of which went down very nicely indeed - and tomorrow morning, I will be able to edit out all the botches and a few audience coughs to boot...

Here is the room during the next performer...

...Ros Nielzen, playing one song from his recent release "Momento Mori" and a couple of brand new ones...

Then, possibly, Mijk's partner, Beth Jam...

Chris Cook made his debut having recently returned to the land of his birth after growing up down under - he was possibly influenced by an inexplicably popular ginger haired young man...

The next three were best of the night for me, all three of whom were also OOTB debutants...

Firstly, with three songs, Pippin Vervaeke (of Belgian extraction she advised me as I confirmed her surname)...

...and, sadly, with just enough time for one song each, two chums, Andy Duncan...

...and Lewis Gibson, who had listened and supported throughout the night while they waited for their 3 minute moments...

For me, they were well worth waiting for and, while speaking to them afterwards, I said I hoped they'd come along again and do a full 3 song set...

The evening ended with another "squashee" (1 song opportunity with time being tight), James McQueen...

Also seen on the left of the pic above, on the desk tonight but, sadly, unable to be fitted in for a song, Mr Igoe...

Home through the night with my recorded on the iPhone performance soundtracking...

Anne was still up crosswording with "Question Time" on in the background...

Another good day...
