Up around nine because we don’t need to get up...
Wrote the last two days up...
Skies outside were surprisingly blue...
More toasted baguettes for breakfast and out at 9:45...
Today we were walking into town, across towards the river to the west of us, past some fine looking houses...
We walked south along the river and over at the first bridge some nice river houses/offices spotted...
Then, even more good houses and over another bridge and onto the Isle de Versailles...
A walk about, including Japanese gardens and then, we left by a third bridge on the other shore of the island
Our fourth bridge of the day took us back to the west bank of the river and we stopped at the Lune Froide café for excellent coffee cremes and a welcome rest, now 75 minutes into our walk...
From there, we walked on to the market, which had been rammed on Sunday but was a little less busy today, with fewer stalls open...
Carrefour supplied us with lunchtime sandwiches...
...as we went further west to the Cimitiere Misericorde...
...which, amongst the headstones and mausoleums...
...included a couple of artworks...
Sandwiches were enjoyed on a bench in the rain...
As the showers eased off, we walked on to the far end of the cemetery and out...
Then, further west to Parc de Poce, now three hours into our walk...
At first lovely blue skies...
..but then the rain started in earnest, at which point we caught a bus back into town...
Anne looked in vain for things to buy while I returned to OCD and picked up three jazz CDs for €10, bringing my average price paid on the trip down from €8.75 to €6.42...
The sun was soon back out...
More walking in the now returned sun took us to the L.U. complex once again, for outside beers, which as the weather turned yet again, became inside beers...
90 minutes later, back out and finding more art...
Then, it really started to pour and we got well and truly soaked...
More bus tickets purchased and a convoluted route home to change...
...and then bus it back into town on the same one hour ticket...
We alighted in the centre and walked to a new part of town...
...where we found a Croque Bedaint with good beers...
90 minutes later, down to the centre...
...and excellent tasty German style kebabs for tea...
A large police presence opposite our bus stop didn’t affect us...
...and we were soon on our way home...
...where I found two of today CDs on the Internet. while Anne crossworded...
C Milan versus Inter Milan disappeared from the telly after around 10 minutes. We didn’t know why. We didn’t know how it worked...
Oh well...
More listening and lazing around before retiring towards midnight...
Highlight of the Day : Walking about...
