Machines and art...

Playlist
Blank Gloss - Cornered
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Demos February & March 2023

Up around 8:15 and writing this, with a large coffee...

Out at 9:15...

Blue skies...

To the bus and over onto the island...

Then, another bus along to Republique and walked down to Le Louis Blanc for breakfast...

Sadly, no croissants but lovely bread, latte and freshly squeezed orange juice nourished...

Then, a walk along to the machines...

...and tickets purchased and in, for the show of various mechanical beasts which wowed all guests, including a plethora of school kids...

Over to the other side of the workshop/gallery to see further building going on...

The plan is for a huge 35m diameter metal tree for people to to climb around on...

We had a visit to the prototype branch...

Down and out and along the quayside, past the basketball tree, to the merry-go-round and, four hours into the day, a welcome rest...

We walked back to the Magmaa for a lunch of croque Monsieur and potatoes...

...before walking further east to the brutalist monuments...

Back over the bridge to the L.U. for drinks and a seat...

I include this self portrait, not for the very ugly looking face being made as I squinted to read a screen above me, but for the young lady behind who is looking at what my phone was recording...

Then, more walking...

...back over the pedestrian bridge at the station and through the Botanic Gardens once again, with its goats and turtles...

With a couple of hours to go till our planned art gallery visit tonight, we took a bus back home and bought some nice bread for tea...

We were once again watched over by cats...

I compiled my top 10 Yes albums, as you do...

Back out at 10 to 7...

...for the bus down to the cathedral...

...and into the Musee des Arts de Nantes, an impressive home to much impressive modern and not so modern Art over four floors...

At one point, a couple were filming themselves in a very slow-moving dance piece...

Our almost last stop was the special exhibition of super realistic sculpture, including mostly people, but, also, some weeds...

One last wander through the old stuff, with the occasional surprise thrown in...

...and to the shop, where my proposed purchase of the guide to the collection was vetoed by the Exec Producer as "more shite" I’d be bringing into the house...

Oh well...

And so, back to the Cathedral and a bus home for the Final time...

The remainder of the evening was spent surfing the net and crosswording, with the soundtrack being my collection of covers recorded in February and March...

To bed at midnight...

Highlight of the Day : Machines and art...
