Exploring the island artworks...

Playlist

Up just after 7:30 and listening to Eclectic Selections while writing this up for yesterday...

Breakfast and looking at today’s prospective activities...

At 9:30, out and along for the bus...

A long wait then we realised today was 8th May, VE Day and so, a public holiday...

Eventually a bus to the cathedral...

...and changed from C1 to C4 and over onto the island and alighted by chance near a shopping mall which was open, against the grain...

Then a C5 to the middle of the island and Republique...

...from where we walked down to the river and found a nice wee place for an 11 am coffee Le Louis Blanc...

We were on the lookout for artworks missed on Saturday and we found them it was Documenta-esque indeed...

Arrived at the machines again around midday enjoying the elephant again...

 ...and some rehearsing dancers...

Then a walk along the bank and over a pedestrian bridge noting a helicopter taking off...

We got a bit lost on the other side but found some impressive buildings...

Lunch was very tasty and economical...

Then, to FNAC where two box sets were acquired...

To the Faydeau district once mostly inhabited by slave traders...

A rest while we watched middle-aged skateboarders...

A walk back through the best street in Feydeau...

...to a strange Football Park/public art exhibit, designed to look normal in a convex mirror...

Then to a bar we'd spotted on Friday next to the tourist office and an hour or so spent there, given it was open...

Then a walk around Bouffay, the town Hall etc...

Another queue outside Entrecôte...

So instead, we found a Carrefour and bought moussaka, crunchy bread and chocolate and headed home...

...for a tasty tea...
