Up at 7:45 and out to get some breakfast shopping...
Reasonably warm with a little precipitation...
A walk to nearby Backt for provisions and further on to Carrefour...
Home for breakfast with orange juice and lashings of coffee plus, for later, beer, wine and crisps...
We were soundtracked by Nantes' own ensemble, Stradivari and LeClair...
Four cats where outside the apartment - can you spot them?
To the bus stop and a free bus to beyond the centre...
A walk down to the river, onto a boat and over to the lovely village of Trentemoult...
A wander around the brightly painted houses, then, along towards a bridge, past the harbour, more excellent houses and the Saturday market...
It took 30 minutes to reach the bridge...
Loads of cranes in view - a new hospital is being built...
Possible Disquietmusik VII covers taken...
A further walk once on the island to the Banana Hanger but everything was closed as we were not yet at noon...
Drinks were however available at the Cantine...
Then, back for a different ferry in the rain, down to Bas-Chantenay...
...and the Little Atlantique Brewery, where beer and Frites nourished lunch wise...
After around an hour we were on the third ferry trip of the day, back to the banana hanger...
...and two galleries of Contemporary Art, the FRAC with a small but interesting exhibition, referencing landscapes...
...and, then, highlight of the day, the HAB, with amazing works by new to me Swiss Brothers, Leopold and Till Rabus. So good I bought the book!
Looking back at my pics, I can’t believe we were only there for 30 minutes and such luck as it’s been here for ages but ends tomorrow...
Onwards...
More art...
...and, eventually, found the Machines De l'Ile, including the elephant...
We missed quite a bit on the island, mainly due to rain, but intend to return...
For now, the back over the river for more wandering...
...before taking the bus home for a rest and some refreshment, soundtracked by pianos...
Two hours later, back out on another bus into town...
...for tea at a pizza/pasta place with focaccia and pasta tonight...
We exited and noted the queue outside recommended by old chum Lindsay, Entrecôte...
We will return...
By this time it was pouring with rain so, another bus home around 8:15...
Some football on the telly, soundtracked by Yes...
The Spanish Cup Final, Real Madrid versus Osasuna...
When Real Madrid went 2-1 up, it was time for bed...
Highlight of ther Day : Hangares a Bananes Gallery and the brothers Rabus...
