A great big Happy 60th Birthday to Jorg Borgo today!

Slept until 9:25 having retired at 10 last night...

Breakfast at home, using supplies that came with the apartment...

Acquisitions, thus far...

Unexpected blue skies as we set out today...

Watched over by cats...

Buses back to normal and we took one to the other side of the city, alighting at Herelle...

We walked down to the lovely Parc des Oblates and enjoyed the quiet surroundings...

Then, on to the Jardin Extraordinaire, with its waterfalls and pools...

We climbed to the top of what was once a quarry, from where spectacular views were afforded...

A walk through the gardens at the top with their view of the Lunar Tree...

Even better ones of which we got from walking onto the Belvedere du Hermitage...

Up into the nearby "town" within the city, with its church and little shops...

Past the statue of Saint Anne and its steps...

...and murals...

...and signs...

We found a Boulangerie for lunch...

The tasty thing with the raisins unfortunately did for one of my teeth...

No pain though...

It had been sunny all morning but now showers started as we commenced the long walk back to the centre...

We stopped for coffees on the street of the baboon...

€2 each for two third filled cups...

Oh well...

Pics were taken of posters re possible exhibitions to visit (we didn't)...

Onwards...

Finally foud ourselves back where we were yesterday...

To a nearby garden, where a collection of 90 portraits of artists of Nantes by Patricia Dawson were on display...

In addition...

..another statue by the same sculptor who made the man with one foot on the plinth on the Place du Bouffey was discovered and entertained in this beautiful small, calm park...

As we walked on, we passed the café where the first jazz in Europe was played, back in February 1918...

The person who named the shop below the firemen may not have had full grasp of the English language...

Then, a look around the rather classy shopping centre, Passage Pomeraye...

On exiting we sheltered from a particularly heavy shower under bookshop canopies...

Walking on once the rain had subsided, we stumbled across the "Jungle Interieure"...

Then, on to the cathedral, visiting the OCD music store on the way (no purchases today)...

We stopped at Café St Pierre for beers...

Then walked on past the cathedral...

...to Oneness records for a look...

It's run by a rasta called Abu who, ratehr amazingly, knows old footballing chum Steve Gearty, Dundee's only rasta and curator of the Messenger Sound System reggae club in Edinburgh...

A box of strange music was bought and a note taken of the shops website for future reggae styleee recommendations...

The Sun was back out as we emerged and walked back to...

 Entrecote...

Second in the queue!

In at seven and a very nice meal indeed - a birthday tea of sorts...

We emerged around 8:15, noting the growing queue outside...

Back to the cathedral...

...from where we caught the bus home...

and, once again, watched over by cats, from 9 till 12, we spent the rest of the evening listening to music (mainly reggae) and surfing the net...

I checked off all the places in the guidebook we've visited so far and, with two full days to go, there are still a few left for us to see...

Highlight of the Day : Entrecote...
