Up to finish off and upload the podcast...

Once again it had been snowing...

...and then, started to do so again...

Downstairs, recent work on Anne's latest painting was recorded...

...and a squirrel, glad for the feeding station, was also recorded...

Breakfast at our own feeding station...

While Anne was out visiting her mum, who seems to be having particular problems with her memory right now, I photographed artworks as best I could, to add to the artworks page on here...

These from 1993...

This from the exhibition poster - long lost now...

From 1995...

From 2008 and 2009...

And, finally, an undated and, it has to be said, accidental work, which I like very much...

Anyway, some measure of general mucking about and watching TV during the day...

Including Morocco beating Portugal to get through to the World Cup smei final - where they would meet either France or England...

In the evening, said clash between either side of the English Channel...

France took the lead...

Only to give a way a penalty early in the second half, which Harry Kane dispatched with ease...

Midway through the second half though, another goal for France and it looked to be all over...

Unbelievably though, with just 6 minutes left of standard time, a VAR decision granted a second penalty to England...

This time, Kane ballooned it over the bar - having decided to try and put it in the same place as the first one, it seemed he perhaps tried a little hard to make sure...

Even with 10 minutes of injury time, there was no equaliser...

They're coming home - to kind of quote a very annoying song...

All over again....

But, perspective required...

They only beat Iran, Wales & Senegal and were frankly, very lucky indeed to get a draw with the USA....

Tonight though, they met the World Champions...

Even with 2 penalties they couldn’t get to extra time....

Yet none of that perspective was present in the least in the the commentary box...

And that is why I can never support them...

Undoubtedly, England have a very good team but beating Iran, Wales and Senegal doesn’t make them World Cup contenders...

Beating France might have....

Excellent effort by the players...

Also, the patronising comments from the commentators and pundits about the opportunity to play Morocco in the semi final were, I was going to say shocking but, actually, they were completely expected…

Now, we can relax for another two years...

Highlight of the Day : England out once again...
