Once more the end of the week and the start of the weekend...

The 9th of December is always a sad day - 11 years ago today, my wee sister Pam died, after a year long struggle against brain cancer...

Devastating...

Here she is on the right with me, my older sister Sheila and my mum, back in August 2010 - just a couple of months before the diagnosis...

I usually put a pic of Pam up on my very rarely visited Facebook page on this day and, very sadly, today, after posting this...

...I heard from her friend Anna, down in Hemel Hempstead, that Pam's best friend Debbie, has now joined her, after succumbing herself to cancer just last week, having only been diagnosed in August and having not advised anyone of what she was going through...

This is the only picture I could find of them together, taken a few weeks after Pam's initial op to have her tumour removed - hence the hairstyle...

Friends forever, especially so now...

Anyway, all of that is a bit maudlin and, if Pam were here today (she was an avid reader of the blog), she'd no doubt say "get on with it David!"...

So, here I go...

Out into the snow...

...and a walk along...

...to the place I go to lose and to find I have indeed lost one half of one stone thus far...

An immediate walk back, to be in, in case a thing that was being delivered for my Xmas from Anne, arrived while she was off to her Zumba class...

This spotted on the way home - Xmas is coming...

Back at my desk just before 9...

...for new music Friday, including prior to this morning unaware of releases from Roger Waters (although I already had all the tracks), Lana Del Rey and Nina Hagen...

The views from the office this morning...

The day was spent listening to music and compiling the content for this week's podcast, along with a couple of episodes of "Astrid"...

A lovely new curry from Anne, tomato and chicken...

...better than any takeaway, it must be said...

This evening, revealing my Top 5 for 1999...

...and to recording the podcast, getting 1.5 of the 2 hours done by bed time...

At which point, lights out...

Lowlight of the Day: Finding out about Debbie...
