Up at 7 but nothing planned for the day...

In hindsight, that was a mistake...

Although I never really like to make concrete plans too much, I also don't like not to have anything to work on...

Anyway, the sky was good...

...as was breakfast with Annie - eggs were poached...

...to perfection...

The last batch of flowers has lasted well...

The sky remained good...

Mid morning, into the attic and a first firing up of the machines for a good while, as I started to get ready for "Disquietmusik IV"...

Despite a few ideas, involving not just the guitar but the drum machine, synth, keyboard and bass guitar, nothing was recorded...

Back downstairs to the back room and the beautiful sounds of Antoine Brummel enjoyed and, indeed, read about...

Today I played the Tallis version rather than the usual Huelgas disc...

Then, the perusal of a book from 2000 on Laurie Anderson...

We were privileged to witness one of the very few performances of her "United States I-IV" back in 1983 at the Dominion in London...

I have my recording of it it on cassette in the attic I think...

And, of course, the box set of the New York performance (once upon a time on LP, now though ) on CD...

Then, some contemporary (or at least from 2010) piano music from one of these box sets...

...and some of this Wergo box - all before lunch...

...which was accompanied by another episode of "Truth Seekers"...

In the afternoon, some work re a possible covers album for the future - which involved listening to recordings of the band and noting BPMs etc...

Before I knew it, it was dark...

It does get dark quickly these days...

Tasty baked potato for tea...

Coffee later...

...whilst perusing these...

...and listening to selections from my albums of 2020 -  a list which is still being worked on....

Later still, caught up with "Taskmaster" - Richard Herring and Daisy with the melon - one of the funniest things we've seen...

Also tonight, listened back for the first time in a while to the back catalogue re-recording demos dubbed "SXTY", including six songs which were/are part of the "Sparklemusik" project...

I finished those recordings off in May 2019...

With some further work, they may yet see the light of day...

Nothing is ever really finished...

Kind of...

Highlight of the Day : Doing a little work on some new and old stuff...
