Up and, indeed, down, although half way first...

A lovely breakfast in the Alps of Bavaria...

...in this house...

...in which our room is positioned so that we can watch the ski-lift if we wish...

Today, we had the ski-lift pass...

...and so, post breakfast, we walked down past the goats...

...and got what must have been one of the first available cars up the mountain...

...past our house...

...and up...

...through the middle station...

...and up some more...

...till we reached the top...

...which has been completely revamped since our last visit...

Impressive...

The mountain itself, of course, remains as was...

And so, up we went for the last couple of hundred feet...

The Exec Producer strode ahead while I captured the scenes for posterity...

In the distance, our target for tomorrow...

The beast was at the top of a mountain (almost)...

We could see our house from here...

..and the bobsleigh track...

Then the last few steps to the summit...

A new cross, too, since our previous visit...

In the distance, the Kehlsteinhaus, or Eagle's Nest, which was being renovated and so was closed - otherwise....

Did I mention we could see our house from here?

Hang-gliders in the distance were prepping for hang-gliding...

...while tourists were snapping from the cross...

We walked onto, for us, new territory and took a look back...

...and down...

...and back....

...and down...

Some gliders had set off...

And so, we just relaxed for a wee while at the top of a mountain and waited on the sun to shine on our destination for tomorrow...

...which, eventually, it came over the mountains and did so...

Tourists took pictures on an adjacent, lower, peak...

...while we continued to enjoy the views from ours...

Time to head back down...

Some refreshments refreshed and a souvenir was purchased...

We sat on the edge of a ski launch platform enjoying our refreshments...

Some final views...

...before boarding for the return journey - after three hours at the top of the Jenner...

...at this point, we were not aware we would visit the house in the distance...

...but we alighted at the middle station for some more wandering...

...and walked up towards said house...

Past this nice big cow...

It was, indeed, lunchtime...

...and lunch was enjoyed outside and was yumtastic...

Out..

...and back down to the station and back onto the ski-lift...

...for the final element to the journey...

Inevitably...

...past our house...

The EP looked pretty pleased at having spent five hours up our favourite mountain...

We took a wee walk around and passed the house where we spent our honeymoon in 1983 and where the EP stayed on a visit with her mum the next year and where we stayed in 2003...

Then, to the bridge by the point where the Königsseer Ache enters the lake...

Up the steps at the other side...

..and on, round the lake...

...for a cheeky wee beer and a seat with a view...

On the way back, ice cream...

...before a walk round the other side of the lake and to the Malerwinkel, for more views...

Still the boats were journeying to the beautiful church...

Back home for a rest before venturing forth for dinner...

Pizza's at Pizzaria Lago...

An excellent end to an excellent day...

Highlight of the Day : Being on top of a mountain again...
