Up and out pre-breakfast...

The sun was not yet over the mountains...

...and the mist remained in the valleys...

No use of the car today...

..and no need now to shop for breakfast provisions...

The view (of our target) from the balcony....

Out and to the Jennerbahn cable car thing...

...and up...

...past our house...

...accompanied by hang-gliders...

A good view of the bobsleigh run...

A not seen previously artificial lake, around a third of the way up...

To the top after a 25 minute relaxing climb...

...except it's not quite - the last few hundred meters or so of this 1,874m high mountain need to be undertaken on foot...

St Bartholoma in the distance...

Berchtesgaden in the distance...

The Exec Producer looking happy...

The very top...

I first saw this in 1974...

2013...

1982 - Super 8 film camera in hand...

As the sun started coming over the mountain onto the lake...

...the mist lifted...

Back down...

...for some refreshment...

Then, into the cable car thing...

...and over the edge...

...and down...

Hitler's house on an adjoining mountain...

Supplies ferried to the top...

Unidentified yellow machines...

Our house again...

Our balcony...

Back to earth...

..and past the house where we stayed in both 1983 and 2003...

Friendly goats...

The old railway station, now a restaurant...

Down to the front...

...over the bridge...

...for a different view...

...and back...

..for lunch by the lakeside...

Bavarian white sausages - surprisingly tasty, served with a sweet mustard and a giant pretzel...

...and the ubiquitous Weissbier...

Then, a walk round the lake to the Malerwinkel, or painter's place...

For the best views of the lake...

...and back...

The bus was having a break...

...but we were soon on our way...

...to Berchtesgaden...

A bit of a long walk up to the town...

Hitler's house again...

What's this in the distance?

Terminator...

This church featured on the cover of a Sombre Reptiles cassette in 1984...

We went into the palace but as it was late, couldn't get full access...

Managed some good pics though...

Then to the church next door...

...and further along the main street...

..and back...

Always sad to see a war memorial...

Into a craft shop for a souvenir wooden bowl...

...and back down for the bus home - good views as we waited...

...here's the opposite shot ...

...of this...

A bit o f a wait, undertaken in the railway station...

Them, on to the bus and home...

...for beers on the balcony...

...not accompanied by mozarella...

Out to a nearby restaurant...

...for a traditional Bavarian tea...

Yummy...

Home in the dark...

Tomorrow, over the border to Salzburg...

Highlight of the Day : Being at the summit of the Jenner once more...
