Last full day in Munich before moving on...

Up early once again...

...and out at 6:15, soundtracked again by the new CBQ piece - a long ambient work with added rhythm - a possible new template - for which there is probably even less of a market than there is for my songs...

Not to worry - I like it...

Today I headed downstream...

...after taking a pic of the house, pinkened by the sunrise...

Past the church...

...and looking back into the dawn...

I stumbled across this unassuming house, which turned out to be the home of acclaimed jazz label, ACT...

I was looking for this restaurant to (a) check how long it took to get there and (b) if the menu was any good re a possible evening meal scenario...

It took half an hour to walk to and was a bit beyond our budget...

Oh well...

Onwards through unchartered waters or, at least, streets...

Once again, I had the map with me so I knew where I was heading and arrived there around an hour after leaving the house...

This was the Theresienwiese...

...home of the world famous Oktoberfest - which will start in around two weeks...

It was being prepped for the festivities...

A huge area of beer drinking and sausage eating enjoyment...

Made my way back towards home, along Mozartstrasse and passing through Goetheplatz...

...past a hospital and over the road...

...and into the Sudlicher Friedhof...

...through which I enjoyed a very peaceful walk...

I went a wee bit off course and ended up at Sendlingertor, where I picked up a couple of, what turned out to be disappointing, rolls for breakfast...

Headed down towards the market via Klosterhofstrasse...

...past the Munchnerstadtmuseum...

...and the Jewish Museum...

The beast etc...

Back home at 8:30, the building now returned to its normal white...

Breakfast...

Then out for a walk down the other side of the river, spotting squirrels...

There seems to be a craze for young lovers to attach padlocks to things...

Back to the Sudlicher Friedhof...

We made our way through the oldest original section, which I'd missed out on earlier...

..and read up on its history and indeed the history of the city...

Out and walked up to Marienplatz...

Today, we went up the Neue Rathaus's tower for some wonderful panoramic views...

The church in our street...

..the Frauenkirche...

St Peter's church...

The town hall courtyard, where we lunched a couple of days ago...

Up towards Siegestor, the Bayern Munich stadium off in the far distance...

The English Gardens...

People were starting to gather in the square below...

...and watched from St Peter's...

...as the time approached midday...

..and the marionette show we'd witnessed from the ground on Monday, commenced once again...

Back down to ground level...

..noting a few details on the building...

...and this big fish...

...on the fountain in the square...

A new pair of trainers was acquired by the Exec Producer re some possible mountain top adventures coming up...

Then we took a look in the improbable Manufactum...

...which, if we were millionaires, we might use to furnish our home and lives in general...

A strange but strangely beautiful retail outlet indeed...

Round to the Hofbrauhaus...

...for beers...

..and oompah bands...

We sat next the Stammtisch - the regulars table - all these guys had their very own drinking vessels...

Your correspondent became a little worse for wear...

The venue had not realised that there is only one member in the Cloudland Blue Quartet...

Wandered back up to the University area...

...past a right wing politician comparing Islamists to the Nazis and being shouted down by protesters...

...past the statue of King Ludwig, the commissioner of paintings of lovely young women from all strata of society...

...to yet another record shop (while Anne enjoyed a tasty ice cream)...

Then, back to the cat cafe...

...noting one of the wee beasties has only three legs...

We walked home...

...Anne's new trainers being broken in as we went...

...arriving home around 4:30...

...and listening to today's purchase...

...and enjoying the sun on the balcony...

In the evening, we popped round the corner to Fraunhoferstrasse once again, this time to excellent pizza/pasta joint, Basta Pasta...

Yum...

And we ended the day as it had begun, with a walk by the river...

Good times...

Highlight of the Day : Up a tower...
