Up early again...

..and out with Neue Deutsche Welle faves, Fehlfarben on the cans...

To the market for a look around as it set up...

By seven I was almost at Marienplatz...

...reaching it at five past and taking this rather obvious pic of the Golden Madonna between the twin towers of the Frauenkirche...

Blue skies were coming through...

...as I walked up Weinstrasse...

...past the newly renovated Marienhof..

..behind the Neue Rathaus...

Weinstrasse gave way to Theaterinstrasse...

As I looked over towards the Maximilianum off in the distance, the city was coming to life...

Up towards Odeonsplatz...

...and the lions at the Feldherrnhalle...

..and the imposing Theaterinkirche...

Into the Hofgarden and the front/back of the Residenz...

As I walked back down Residenzstrasse, I noticed Muncheners touching these statues as they walked past...

...hence the "clean" lions' faces...

Back through the market, picking up breakfast provisions...

...and home via Baaderstrasse...

The beast was available for two hundred and eighty Euros...

There being no takers, it was up the sixty steps for breakfast at home with a recently risen Exec Producer...

Out and round the corner for day tickets on Fraunhoferstrasse and catching a tram...

...past the Hauptbahnhof...

...and out into the suburbs to the Nymphenburg Palace..

...where the fish were impressive...

...and almost as large as the swans...

An impressive "front drive" indeed...

...and, inside was no less impressive...

The rulers of Bavaria had many homes, including this castle overlooking the then unknown town of Dachau...

Over a period of 24 years from 1826 to 1850, an artist named Joseph Stieler, at the request of King Ludwig I, painted the portraits of 36 beautiful women from a variety of social classes - from the daughter of a shoemaker to the daughter of a king...

And they're all still here...

...along with many other works...

The "house" having been toured, it was out into the back garden...

...complete with other houses, small palaces etc, where members of the family could hang out...

Quite a big garden...

...all told...

This building intentionally built as a ruin...

These people just had toooo much money...

Back to reality as we returned to town and I spent an hour in a couple of record shops close to the flat...

...buying this at the shop above...

...and this at the shop above...

...before returning home to enjoy this afternoon's quota of Kaffee und Kuchen...

Then, we took advantage of the day ticket to travel back up to the English Gardens...

...where a boat trip was enjoyed...

I must confess, Anne did most of the pedalling...

..and I nearly fell in on alighting the jetty...

Back to the Siegestor...

...and a one stop S-Bahn journey down to Schellingstrasse...

...for beers...

...some journey planning...

...and a wander around in the dark...

We think the white light at the top of the building below may have been the rooftop bar we were seeking but never actually got there..

...opting instead for a tasty wrap for tea and a quick train home...

Highlight of the Day : Nymphenburg...
