Up, breakfast and out past the nice wee goats...

Down to the lake for the main event of the day...

Boat trip...

The views from the boat from out on the lake are fantastic...

The mountain range in the distance is said to resemble a sleeping witch...

Halfway to our destination, the boat stopped and the driver played a trumpet...

...which echoed back and forth against the sheer rock face ....

In 1983, I rowed this journey with Anne in a very small boat - across the deepest, cleanest lake in Germany...

After around 40 minutes we were approaching landfall...

..at St Bartholoma...

This was the first time I think that we'd actually entered the church...

Back outside the sun was finally coming over the mountains but the day was still a little overcast...

We took a walk along the shoreline...

...noting this leaf, suspended in mid air by a single sliver of a spider's web...

Then, a walk through the woods...

...to the Eisbach...

..and a very small church indeed, in the middle of nowhere...

With this tiny light coloured stone in my pocket as a souvenir...

...we walked back to the jetty and took the boat back...

The clouds were coming in...

..as we approached the stop off point at Kessel...

...past the waterfall...

..and the Malerwinkel, from where we took yesterday's spectacular views of the lake...

..back to the shore...

..past the little island...

..and to land...

Wonderful...

In the afternoon, with the skies darkening, we drove to Ramsau, to see its little church, like St Barthomloma, one of the most photographed in the world...

The sign above the gate translates as "Think oh man, that you are made of dust and will return to dust again"...

Inside...

...with Jesus and the apostles below the organ...

Not having had any lunch, cake beckoned...

...and its call was answered...

We drove on to the Hintersee...

..and walked all the way around it...

As noted elsewhere, rocks have fallen by chance and been grown upon by nature...

I particularly like this one...

Back to the house and noted the Konigsee Cat has a wee friend...

Out for another traditional German evening meal...

...of Handl und Pommes for me and Jaegerschnitzel mit Pommes for the Exec Producer...

Home in the dark once again...

A particularly good Sunday...

Highlight of the Day : Boating on the lake...
