Slept in again...

A beautiful sunny morning though...

Bur I would not be going out...

A horse has become visible in Anne's painting...

A coffee while she slept on...

Then, once again, catching up with my random LPs of the day...

This, from Genesis, sparked a discussion on the Twitter...

It's the last LP by the group I can play all the way through without skipping a crap track...

It always reminds me of seeing them at Knebworth on 24 June 1978...

On consulting the diaries, it turns out I bought this on 5 May 1978, on which day I had a ticket to see UK at the Edinburgh Odeon but gave it up to sister Pam to go to chum Rory's leaving party instead (he was off to a kibbutz in Israel)...

The party was good but, as I got older, I came to regret that stupid youthful decision...

Sister Pam taped the gig though - complete with occasional chat between her and chum Janice Murray and the creaking of their seats...

And the next LP has a UK connection in that it's a kind of solo LP by John Wetton...

Recorded in February 1978 while in UK...

It's OK rather than UK...

Not one of his best...

And up to date with today's selection - Alice Cooper's "Flush the Fashion" received as birthday present in 1980 - here pictured with Anne's copy...

He was attempting to change his image...

Mostly short , fast tracks - the LP runds for a mere 32 minutes...

It contains a couple of faves like "Pain" and "Grim Facts" but, in hindsight, was the start of a spiral into a deep personal hell for Mr Cooper...

All of that before breakfast!

Later Twitterchum Andy Long as having a tooth out, which reminded me of my gruesome box of tooth-based remainders...

I got a head of myself by choosing tomorrows's record and playing it a day early...

Nina Hagen's debut...

Her initial backing band, with whom she made this & "Unbehagen" in '79, went on to be Spliff...

Bought in Kaufhof Munich 13/7/79 for DM15.80 (£15.88 today). Even though it's a bit off the wall, probably her most "normal" record....

Then, enthused by Anne's pics being framed up and hung, I fetched my 1993 works from the attic...

This is a reasonable spot for them and, given their abstract nature, they look fine on their sides...

(Sacrilege I hear you say)...

This trio is now 10 years old...

...as noted on this mug...

I am a slow painter...

As predicted, today I moved on from prog...

Prompted by a Tweet, I made a swift compilation of all 20 studio LPs recorded by Ronnie James Dio during his career - - Elf, Rainbow, Dio, Black Sabbath and Heaven & Hell - the longest track from each - a kind of 2CD set - very good indeed...

Then, I played the shortest track from around the first 30 or so Wire Tapper CDs...

Then, stumbling across a list of 100 jazz albums that shook the world, I found I have 51...

And, of course, a playlist was created...

That was it..

Night all...

Highlight of the Day : Getting my paintings out of the attic...
