As is often the case, started the day snoozing and listening to an old podcast, the content and chat from which I couldn't recall, even though it was only a few weeks ago - so it was fresh and new to my ears and reminded me of good music which, thus far, I may very well have only listened to once - whilst actually recording the podcast...

Anyway, up......

Peeking...

The room remains tidy...

...and still contains too much music to hear in what's left of my lifetime...

Not to worry...

To work on "Beethoven" - splitting the two tracks from their unwieldy total lengths of 75 and 60 minutes - doing so in 10ths provides 10 variations on a theme for each...

Of course, I noted a glitch on the second of the two pieces when I boosted the volume slightly - it had been good last night on the speakers in the back room but a little too "in the background"...

And so, glitch wise - all which were repeated throughout the piece - they had to be found...

In fact, I just had to create one of the three tracks, which are collaged together to form the piece, again from scratch, after eliminating the glitch from the source short piece...

Done...

Even before breakfast for us it was Dreamie time for the visiting for the first time in a few days Fang the Black Cat...

...and then, off he went on his way...

...leaving us to breakfast with the radio...

Mid morning, the postie brought this...

I am enjoying discovering string trios, having concentrated for decades on quartets...

So, I'd had Beethoven (kind of) and these trios and then moved on to new "prog/jazz" find Mahogany Frog on Bandcamp (latest LP, 2012!) whose music has been declared "tasty"...

Late afternoon, lovely aromas were wafting into the WFH area...

It turned out these had been made by the EP...

For later...

Meanwhile, throughout the afternoon, I enjoyed rather good piano music, with the odd hellish vocal thrown in, from these tasty box sets...

Then, an e-mail advised our flight home from Germany next month had been cancelled...

We swithered with just not going and taking a refund...

But no, we have re-jigged slightly and, once again, reduced the trip - this time by a day (having already knocked a week off of it a month or so ago), whilst adding a third venue to the tour...

Nothing is certain in these uncertain times...

Other than, when Anne makes a Red Thai Chicken Curry, it is going to be very good indeed...

Later, our second episode of the day of "Chuck" - the first in the second season...

Enjoyed with a coffee and scone - or at least there was a scone on the plate at one point...

Later still, when looking at my stats on Bandcamp, I noted someone had skipped this track from "Disquietmusik III"...

Hmmm, it's definitely worth the full 8 minutes...

I did not notice that, tonight on BBC Four, the film "The Trials of Oppenheimer" was coincidentally showing...

My piece is named after an installation though, which is, in turn, named after a different Oppenheimer...

Installation view, Hanne Darboven: Requiem For M. Oppenheimer, 420 WEST BROADWAY

Still...

Back downstairs for more TV - 2nd of a three part doc on "Red Dwarf" which would be better "on tape", as the frequency and length of the ad breaks ruins the experience...

Then, the not very good but has its moments Lee Mack vehicle "Semi-Detached" and two 15 minute episodes of Diane Morgan's comedy short, "Mandy", which I kind of warmed to...

Finally, some T Rex whilst prepping this to write up tomorrow and, then, bed...

Highlight of the Day : Rejigging the German trip...
