A much better day, weather wise...

Out for provisions...

Breakfast on the balcony...

And then, out for a very long walk...

Over the Pont de Pierre...

Looking back over the city...

..and ahead to the new bridge, we could see the towers of Europe's largest "lift bridge", the Pont Jacques Chaban Delmas, off in the distance...

The views today were good...

On the other side of the bridge was Xavier Veilhan's Blue Lion, resident in Stalingrad Square since 2005...

The Miroir d’Eau was doing its "mist" thing...

Onward...

...going further along the Garonne than we had on the other bank yesterday...

I have no idea what this is - it's on the map but unnamed...

These small boys and the mum of one of their number, scootered along with us...

I enjoyed the mix of trees and industrial buildings...

After having walked for just over an hour, we were approaching the bridge...

By comparison, the Pont D'Aquitaine in the distance was just a little boring...

A short rest was taken on the other side...

...before we headed back to the city...

...leaving the bridge behind us again...

A tree man was changing this...

...to this...

A bit of a haircut...

On through the University campus...

...we found ourselves back on Rue Notre Dame...

..,and stopped for a small lunch...

Anne was in kind of Françoise Hardy mode...

From the back of the art gallery, we walked towards the Jardin Public...

...passing Joan of Arc...

..and picking up a souvenir chestnut on the way...

The park was quiet and beautiful...

..although may have become a bit rowdier later on...

We spotted a couple of these around town during our stay - people deposit books here for others to read...

Leaving the park behind, we walked over to Place des Quinconces and its huge fairground...

Ice cream was preferred over the Big Wheel...

Past the Opera House again...

...we found the bakery I'd been looking for yesterday and a couple of cakes were bought to take home...

...where some wine would be on the menu too...

The balcony was good...

We stumbled a cross a TV show called "The Cretinous Rabbits" - very funny indeed and, as the dialogue is not words per se, it could easily transfer to our own screens...

More wine...

...and back out to Place St Pierre...

...for more drinks...

The pizzeria we were looking for was closed on a Monday so we opted for Funky Burger...

Yum...

Great place, great food, great prices...

...and home, a little the worse for wear...

Highlight of the Day : I'd like to say all the walking, which was good, but it has to be funky burger...

Loved that Blue Lion. Must take a lot of planning or excellent map reading skills to get round so much. And lots more to come!
