Tippett - String Quartets
Enjoyed Mr Bartok's string quartets this morning...
Followed by some Yes music - re the cross-faded collections compiled a couple of months ago now, inspired by Oz chum Mr Williamson...
Back home and Annie headed off to Tynecastle to see her team thumped 3-0 by Celtic and one Hearts fan attack the 'Tic's manager...
By all accounts the atmosphere was, shall we say, fraught...
Meanwhile, in the relative sanctity of Crispycat Towers, I watched "Solaris" (the original bleak, depressing 1972 Russian version)...
A call from sister Pam advised she will return to work, part-time and from home, at the end of this month - she wants to get some kind of normality into her life...
Good on her, I say...
I retired upstairs post dish washing duties and complied a wee disc containing the fifteen songs which comprised my first self-made chart, back at the end of 1972 (as posted here on Sunday)...
A goodly amount of time was spent trying to download any Rod Stewart collection containing "What's Made Milwaukee Famous"...
I am by no means a fan but, at the time, was the proud owner of this record, a double "A" side along with his version of Jimi Hendrix's "Angel"...
Anyway, that's enough drivel for today...
Oh, nearly forgot - a big Happy Birthday today to chum Birgit, up on the Isle of Luing!
Lights out to the sound of Mr Tippett...
Highlight of the Day : Sublime Bartok...
