Up at an unfeasible 5am and working on sending the constituent parts of "Vendôme" over to Ryan Sour Grapes in Oz for him to work on remixing...

Out around 10 and into town for coffee and croissant at the Artisan, where we stumbled across old chum Paul Reynolds, already on his third cup...

Then Anne was off and I walked up with Paul to the top of Leith Walk where we parted company, although there was a chance I'd see him again tonight at Jamie Frain's Kilted Pig gig...

I was off to the Record Fair - solo today, having failed to entice either Count Brodski or Dr Prog along - I suspect they were more interested in their respective footie teams, Glasgow Rangers and Dunfermline Athletic...

The latter won Queen of the South's league last week and, today, with Queens enjoying a 3-0 win at home to Dundee to finish fourth and Dunfermline winning too, the Pars could rightfully claim the title since, even if Dundee's penalty of 25 deducted points (for going into administratrion) were to be added back, Dunfermline would still have one more...

The fair was ok - I liked the room...

Five CDS were purchased - Return to Forever, Pink Floyd, The Temptations, Broken Social Scene, Walter (Wendy) Carlos - for very little cash indeed (it says here)...

Wandered through the town...

...popping into Fopp but, once again, remaining unenthused...

To the West End of Princes Street, where I caught the bus home...

...to enjoy the new acquisitions...

Around 4:30 it was over to Loanhead to pick up sister Pam from my mum's...

Her two week holiday is almost over...

After a blether at mum's and a tearful farewell, we drove back to Edinburgh and, on the way back to Crispycat Towers, we picked up Lynn and Ross...

Back home, an Indian was ordered, subsequently collected and, subsequently again, very much enjoyed to the groovy sound of the Temptations...

At 8:30, a taxi was called and it took us over to The Kilted Pig for Jamie's two set cover version extravaganza...

The evening was enjoyed by a good variety of people including our party, plus Paul R and Mr Jim Park - along with a couple of dodgy, unintentionally funny dancers and, again unintentionally funny, the drunkest man in the world...

Apparently, the best thing said drunken man did all day was to drink two pints of water at midday - sadly that intake did not seem to have balanced out the other twelve hours or so of alchohol...

Paul managed to baffle Jim with his Plague of Lighthouse Keepers reference - a plan to put on Pan's People at the Edinburgh Festival was also considered...

We were last to leave the bar and, at 1:30am, well past Pam's normal curfew, we were back home again, the services of another taxi having been utlised...

We all agreed we'd had a very good night out indeed...

Highlight of the Day : A night out with old chums...
