Due to picking Jorg and Ansem up from the airport today I took Anne to Haymarket station around 7:30 to allow her to get the 7:45 train to work in Fife – she’d arrive early and be able to leave early tonight...

Plans were thwarted by Scotrail as the train departed 20 minutes late and lost a further 10 minutes during what’s supposed to be a 22 minute journey...

A fraught morning due to the “global financial crisis” but to the airport for 12:40 to pick up the Germans...

It all went without incident and we were soon back at Crispycat Towers, where Meg the Black cat took to the small boy immediately..

I don’t mind confessing this is going to be an ordeal for Anne and I to have an about to be eight year old boy in the house for almost a week...

We’re not used to the touching of everything and general disregard of what are to us natural conventions...

We’ll soldier on though...

Great to see Jorgo Borgo again, even though we last saw him just a few months ago in Germany...

With Anne still at work, the trio took a walk down into Corstorphine, mainly to allow Jorg to obtain some liquid funds for the stay, then we stopped into the rather run down Chatterbox Coffee Shop and enjoyed some refreshments before the adventure of being upstairs on a double decker bus back up the hill and home...

After enjoying some children’s television (highlight, Basil Brush), a call from Anne to say she was walking from Barnton so we all piled into the car and went to pick her up and stopped at The Store on the way back for bread, Doritos and dip and a football for the boy...

Back home, Ansem managed to fall in the front window after balancing precariously in an attempt to see what Meg the Black cat was up to outside – he hit his head on one of the HiFi speakers and crashed to the ground wailing – the crying stopped when I pointed out a squirrel in the garden which Meg was stalking – I shoo-ed it away before any bloodshed ensued...

Pasta for tea, then listening to some of the Krautrock albums Jorg supplied as a very welcome gift addition to the Crispycat Library...

Here’re the three musketeers during a quick break from grooving to Guru Guru...

Ansem enjoyed seeing pics of our meetings with the Sonnenschein family previously covered in this diary...

We e-mailed some pics of her son’s adventures to Yvonne back in Germany, then bed for the wee man as Anne, Jorg and I chatted in the living room...

At 10:30, an early night for Jorg after the long day and for me after last night’s disaster...

Late doors some welcome texts from Macclesfield chum Craig who quite rightly slags the Foals but praises Holy Fuck, to whom, coincidentally, I’d been listening this very afternoon...

Highlight of the Day : The visit begins...
