A bit of a Lou Reed frenzy this morning as I uploaded missing albums to the Jukeboxes whilst buggering about on the internet trying to find ways of putting a picture as the background to the blog...

To no avail...

Hours wasted and a complete contrast to yesterday...

Played about a bit on the guitar, merely convincing myself of how crap I am...

Then, as Anne headed to Tynecastle for Hearts’ friendly with Hull City (1-0 the JTs), I made my second visit in two days to the Filmhouse and saw “Berlin”, the film of Lou Reed playing said album in its entirety (plus three encore tunes) in New York last year, accompanied by, amongst others, guitarist Steve Hunter and Mr Bob Ezrin, my all time favourite record producer (due to his having commanded the helm on the original Alice Cooper group’s best selling albums)...

I could have paid £50 in June to see this concert live at the Playhouse (as my good friend Count Brodski did) but much better to spend £4.80 and sit in the dark with just four other souls enjoying superb sound and views not afforded by being amongst a sell-out and, no doubt (to my ears and eyes), misbehaving crowd...

After the “gig”, met up with Anne and we ate at The Baked Potato Shop at the top of Cockburn St before heading to the Underbelly to see this year’s Richard Herring Show which, while starting strongly and having some brilliantly funny material included, featured quite a bit of self analytical chat from our comedy hero...

Of course, for us he can do no wrong and I loved every minute...

In fact...

Highlight of the Day : Richard Herring’s brand new show
