Friday again...

Which is good; and bad...

Up...

Anne off to Zumba, me WFH...

Later, followoing application of this over the last couple of weeks...

...Anne was off out again to have her ears syringed...

Still some to be done next week to finish things off...

I will shortly get mine done too I think...

At £55 it should be worth it...

Today, my 100 nominations for the (my) top 5 LPs of 2003 re the latest fortnightly poll were honed to these 50...

...and on it goes...

Also today, new releases brought into the collection...

...some better than others...

Learning too "Love is the Drug" by Roxy Music - a suggestion for a new cover by keyboardsman Paul R...

This evening, into town, solo, to Haymarket, soundtracked by said track's home LP, "Siren" - a classic from 1975...

To Indian, or, rather, Pakistani restaurant, Rustom...

...where the food was delicious, plentiful and keenly priced...

Starter platters...

..and a Pakistani Lamb Karai for your corrrspondent...

The quality of the pics of my colleagues speaks to the worse for wearness of the photographer which was ensuing through the evening...

Luna the Cat's mum, Gillian, for it was she...

Ali...

Wendy...

Spike...

Jack...

A rather weary looking Janine, with Bernardo behind - plus Sarah and Christine...

Gillian had stolen my phone to take the above and this...

Janine enjoyed the lettuce...

Sarah was "normal" - Christine was dignified...

As we left the restaurant around 9:30, Janine and Christine caught a train, Sarah headed home on foot, the rest went on to more partying, Jack having already left around 9 to meet up with more chums...

I was on the 26 by 9:45, now soundtracked by Roxy Music's live LP "Viva" - I'd forgotten how top notch it is...

Home, not the worse for wear this time, and even watched a couple of things on the telly, including "Graham Norton"...

I was, however, stuffed to the veritable gunwales...

Highlight of the Day : Indian (or rather, Pakistani) feast...

Last day, kind of, can be a good day...

Thursday,...

Botches sorted and podcast up...

Last ever day of this...

Other than a Thursday each week in that Fife, the EP can now concentrate on EPing...

Some time spent listening to new things in the house and, later, out of the house - as I popped to Blackburn (not Lancashire) to see chums Fiona and Lindsay...

This played this evening, recorded on this day in 1966...

A cracker...

Always nice to read the liner notes...

Both old...

...and new...

Also today, spurred on by a picture of a new book, spotted on Twitter "1973 Progressive Rock's Golden Year", I compiled a list of 115 "Prog Rock" Studio LPs...

Some of these are, no doubt, questionable - at least 27 are jazz (but possibly also "prog"?)...

Anyway food for thought/music for ears?

Everyone loves a list!

Very much enjoyed these on shuffle...

This evening, we finished off "Russian Doll"...

The ending made me feel good...

Me and the EP watch out for each other...

Highlight of the Day : Anne semi retiring...

Staying in can protect your legs...

Up late on the 42nd anniversary of "The Sweet Thrill of Industry"...

Out and down the hill...

At lunchtime, looking for a picture frame...

The first was deemed the best and the pic form Sunday was printed and framed...

In the evening, my services were not required for the 5 a sides - Anne was out at the Hearts Celtic game - 2-1 loss but missed a penalty!

I trawled the pages of the recent Wire back issues and downloaded a few choice items...

My 100 nominations for the (my) top 5 LPs of 2003 re the latest fortnightly poll were honed to 75. They will be further whittled to 50, 30, 20, 10 &, finally, the (my) Top 5..

I only noticed later that somehow Alice Cooper had been left out...

He'll be back...

And I recorded this week's podcast...

Four weeks into the year already...

Highlight of the Day : Staying in instead of playing football...

Notebooks don't need to be blue, although blue ones are good...

Right...

Tuesday...

Up...

Don't rightly recall what the basis for today's listening was...

At lunchtime, we started "Russian Doll"...

WFH and then, later on, a drive to see people in Gullane...

Arrived early and picked up some CDs at the only charity shop in the town...

...which joined these three Wire tappers which had arrived earlier in the post...

...meaning I now have all 57 volumes issued since 1998...

Of the new CDs turns out I have this already but I was fooled by a slightly different sleeve...

Second time that's happened recently...

This is Blue Nile-esque but with a deeper vocal...

Funky...

Country-y...

...and very happy to secure this original issue of Max Richter's "The Blue Notebooks" on FatCat (Even though I already have a download)...

Home later than I'd have liked...

Tea from Annie and "Holby City" and some listening and ripping...

Highlight of the Day : Max Richter find...
