Friday...
Roaming cat...
I was not roaming - another case of the old Plantar Fasciitis when I arose - agony in my heel...
Half past six...
...and Luna wanted some food (mind you, she always wants some food, no matter the time or the last time she got some food)...
Who was I to argue?
Some downloading of new things (23) and choosing the next CD Box CD - No 49, from Rubrra to Satie...
A 3CD set of the latter - played by Aldo Ciccolini...
His renditions were the first I ever owned of Mr Satie's music (my take on Satie's piano music is one of my top selling releases on Bandcamp - No 4 based on Turnover, No 7 based on Sales and No 6 based on Downloads)...
An inspiration, but I doubt I'll listen to all three CDs in the set...
There's a further box with another 2CDs in it, which I don't have...
Just a coffee for breakfast, as I was going to be out for lunch...
Took Anne to her Zumba class then, to the gym for me, despite the heel pain...
Reduced my speed on the treadmill by 10% but also actually managed a couple of minutes of running and even stayed on for double the time...
...and out, almost walking normally...
The beast was leaving the gym...
Home for some work re the new downloads...
At 11:25, back out and walking almost normally down the hill, the new Neal Morse soundtracking my trip...
A bus to Haymarket to meet up with Dr Prog at Rustom...
We decided on the 3 course business lunch, with pints of Cobra...
We were first in...
... but, within 15 minutes, the place was packed...
We discussed music in general and, in particular, the Yes/Jon Anderson situation - the Doc reimbursing me re my outlay on our tix for Mr A in September...
Tasty food enjoyed, although extremely small portions...
Unpictured starters comprised just 2 mushroom pakora for the doc and two small pieces of tandoori chicken for me...
We both opted for the Chicken Karahi as a main, served in what would normally be side dish size dishes, plus naan for me, pilau rice for Phil...
...and a single scoop of ice cream each for dessert...
Then Phil was off to do some swimming, not sure if that was wise, post a curry lunch and pint of lager but, hey ho...
Meanwhile, I walked to the West End and got a tram down Leith, a proposed meet up with Gaz and Bernie having been cancelled...
Another Telegraph headline was concocted on the tram...
In that Leith, I hit paydirt in the fifth of six shops visited, The Bethany Christian Trust, on the corner of the Leith Dockers street, before heading back over to Haymarket for a No 12 and a 26 to the top of the hill and a walk down, home...
I'd been away for 4hrs 45 mins...
Let the ripping and listening begin...
Someone had obviously ditched (part of) their prog collection...
I had none of these already, apart from old, pre remastering issues of the Gentle Giant LPs...
I had not heard of Mirodor but took a chance and it proved to have been the correct decision...
The two GG sets upped the ante a bit on the outlay but. were still just £5 each...
Augsburg beat Koln FC 2-0, including a last kick of the ball from just past halfway into an empty goalmouth goal after the Koln goalie was ordered up the pitch to try and get a last minute equaliser from a corner...
Luna was not demanding any more food...
...as the fifth of six episodes of "Astrid" rounded off the day...
The pain in my foot had now reached its highest intensity of the day, even having taken copious painkillers..
And so, off to bed at 10:30...
Highlight of the Day: Lunch with Dr Prog...
