A very large playlist today as, from rising, until heading out around 2:30, I had the newly filled mobile unit on shuffle...
Up comparatively late...
...and saw to the cat...
...then carried out my 11 daily tasks, pre a double yoker based scrambled egg breakfast...
Boiled double yoker for the lady...
Thursday - nearly the weekend...
Time to choose the daily disc...
Box 48, from Respighi to Royer...
I went for 18th century composer, Georg Ritter, a chum of Mozart's...
I love a bassoon and I love a string trio...
On this disc, they are combined in a splendid fashion...
Looking forward to hearing this - I did not play it today...
As a set of snapshots for for posterity, here, my last 100 CD acquisitions, oldest to the left...
1-25...
26-50...
51-75...
76-100...
No lunch re a proposed early tea...
Instead, some reading...
...including "Hills Like White Elephants", on which this CBQ song, from 2003, is based...
...to which I also did not listen but am doing so now as I type...
...the reading was, rather, soundtracked by the continuing shuffleplay...
Mucking about - this Telegraph "journalist" is "famous" for his stupid headlines - someone had made a machine on the net that incorporates your thing of choice into one which the machine has produced based on the "journalist"'s past piles of shite...
Also wasted some time today, searching out pictures of tickets for gigs I attended at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, some while working there as an, indeed, usher...
...as we set off down the hill around 2:30...
...alighting at Platform 5 at Haymarket, where unpictured ciders and glasses of Sauvignon Blanc were enjoyed, along with chat as to who might make good dinner guests...
We settled on:
Alice Cooper
Dolly Parton
Dieter Meier of Yello
and
Brian Eno...
...before the short walk along to La Casa for a very late lunch/slightly early tea...
More cider and wine were enjoyed...
Bruschetta to start for me...
Gambas Pil Pil for Annie..
...followed by Lamb Chops with mixed vegetables and potatoes for Anne and some tapas for me - meatballs and patatas bravas...
Tortilla and Greek pork sausage stew with leek and peppers...
Crema Catalana for Anne's desert...
Cheesecake Brulee for me...
Absolutley stuffed...
Yowsah!
A much-needed constitutional taken up Morrison St and down Lothian Road to the aforementioned Usher Hall, for tonight's concert by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (featuring Anne's cousin Alison Green on Counter Bassoon) and starring Nicola Benedetti on violin...
Pre gig pics...
Post the first piece, Brahms' "Academic Festival Overture"...
Post the second work, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and an impromptu mid concert encore of Elgar's "Salut d'Amour"...
...Alison seen here, warming up for the third piece, just below the right hand double bass...
and, finally pre...
...and post Brahms' Fourth Symphony...
Superb music, superbly and faultlessly performed by the 52 people on stage...
A walk down to Shandwick Place with chanced upon also orchestral concert attending Zumba chum, Myumi and her partner, Ian for the bus home...
...where an inpatient Luna awaited her tea...
A couple of "Chicago PD"s before bed...
News late on, of an offer to play in June at Stewarts Brewery in Loanhead, to celebrate the end of a charity 10K run...
Can we all make it? No. But, we might be able to pull some thing together...
Bed beyond midnight...
A good Thursday...
Highlight of the Day: Out and about...

Impresive ticket stub collect. If only I'd kept mine. Like the headline generator too.
