A film too far...

Playlist

Into February and up slightly later than was the case pre the Amsterdam trip...

Uploading the remainder of the pictures to the missing entries here...

Anne was off to Pickle Ball at 8:30, plus post PB coffee and, then, post a quick return to change, shopping...

Me, to the latest podcast...

Due to the lack of new things over the last week or so, I filled a couple of holes in the playlist with items from the previous week...

Done before noon and then, the uploading...

And, the listening back, just in case...

While the current modus operandi takes less than the time of the podcast itself, it still does take over two hours to get it all done and out...

With that out of the wat and Anne having returned around 1:30, lunch and catching up with things recorded while we were away - another "Patience"...

Also, lined up the next CD box...

Handel to Haydn...

Today, I chose a disc of 20th Century composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s string quartets 1 & 2, from 1933 & 1945/6, bookending the Nazi era...

Played by the Pellegrini Quartett...

Another set of top quartets indeed...

But I didn't listen until this evening...

For a too long amount of time this afternoon, I found myself watching "A Bridge Too Far" and reading up about its subject "Operation Market Garden" - a "glorious" failed attempt to end the 2nd World War early, which, in the event, actually prolonged it and caused the deaths of tens of thousands of Dutch civilians...

As noted by contemporary critics, the film itself was as much a failure as the operation it conveyed...

Anyway, then some listening back to the podcast and, later the CD of the day and a new acquisition from this morning by Orchestra of the Upper Atmosphere....

Post "fish & chips"...

A goodly number of episodes of "What We Did in the Shadows"...

Such a funny show...

Bed at gone midnight...

Highlight of the Day: Podcasting...
