The playlists are going to be larger going forward, as I have decided to listen to one track from every CD I've acquired since buying Brian Eno's "Thursday Afternoon" in the autumn of 1985 (along with my first CD player)...
I'll be listening to 36 a day, roughly 2.5 hours - it'll take around a year to complete...
This was the idea in my head when I arose this morning...
Here I am, post my first day's listening - I was ready to party...
Off into town at lunchtime (with Anne heading to Pickleball)...
A meet at the Abbotsford with soon to be 70, Bernardo and chum Gaz...
A couple of drinks and then, post being joined by Christine for the latter of those, over the road (or, rather Rose St) to Manhatta to meet up with Wendy and Janine - the organisers...
Sadly, Raymondo didn't make it - the wife of a friend died today, unexpectedly...
We had a deal - a glass of prosecco, five more drinks and a burger & fries, all for £40 or so...
We were given an extra glass of prosecco due to a wait which we had not realised had taken place...
We were not complaining...
Here, the birthday boy through a glass, bubbly-y...
Drinks were good...
Food was good...
Drinks continued to be good...
...even though they were starting to pile up in front of me...
Janine liked Gary's cap...
Good times were being had...
...and "Happy Birthday" was sung...
...as the drinks continued to arrive...
A brownie for the birthday boy, shared amongst the six of us...
Drinks were finished and we exited and went to The Westside Rodeo on George St, where we were joined by the Exec Producer...
Cowboy hats all round...
...and more drinks....
There was even some horse riding, kind of...
...before Anne and I exited and went over the road (or, rather George St) to Cafe Centro for tea...
Pizza and a glass of wine for Anne, tagliatelle and a welcome break re a mineral water for me...
Yum...
Then, a walk to the Brewhouse on Market Street...
...for chum (who was with us at the football on Wednesday evening) Diane's 60th birthday party...
An enjoyable evening in a private room...
..away from the Hoi Polloi - who were dancing on the tables outside...
Bob was on good form, here with a Rangers supporting pal...
These ladies kept us entertained too...
...and Diane made a top speech...
Around 11, it was time to head home...
A bus to the bottom of the hill and a walk up - at least one of us was the worse for wear...
A good day indeed...
Highlight of the Day : Old music and Partying...
