Up and compiling today's "play every CD" list and, indeed, playing every CD - now up to more than the first 500...
It is becoming a chore...
Anyway...
Nice morning...
Luna routine, of course, first thing...
The weekend had arrived...
She's mad for biscuits...
Today, Anne was off to Pickleball, followed swiftly by Hearts v Ross County at Tynecastle, so, I decided I'd head uptown for a wander...
To Fopp firstly, nothing enticed...
Then, a walk along Princes St...
I was being soundtracked on my trip out by both "No Pussyfooting" and "Evening Star" by Fripp & Eno, or, rather, my "variations" thereupon...
Having recorded my guitar solos back at the start of December, it was time to listen back and determine whether further work was required...
"No Pussyfooting" sounded surprisingly good...
It is, I think, good to go (in August)...
However, "Evening Star" (Due in September) requires some measure of re-jigging re some of the solos not quite gelling...
Oh well...
Onwards...
A tram down to Leith Walk was taken...
I noted the matches I'd be keeping an eye on today...
Results were:-
Well-earned draws for Kassel (2-2) and Berlin (1-1)...
An away win for Borussia (4-2)...
An away win for Wrexham, taking them to 2nd, swapping places with Wycombe (1-0)...
A 2-0 win for Hearts, back into the top 6...
3-2 for Queens, holding on after a comeback, to take them to within 2 points of Alloa and the play offs...
And a 1-0 win for Nantes over Lille - who I should really follow too...
Imagine if I checked out the games for every place I'd ever been...
OK that's probably too much football...
Five purchases made at Elvis Shakespeare from their 50p section, followed by nine CDs at £1 each from this kind of junk shop...
Uh oh...
A walk down Broughton St to Canonmills...
The hospice shop's CD content was disappointing, after two or three top visits there over the last year or so...
...and no books required either...
A bus to Princes St and another home, for the ripping and listening to commence...
Today's input...
From Elvis Shakespeare, some crackers on here but probably only a couple I don't already have...
Hmmm, this appears to be my third different best of from McFly...
Two sets of tastiness from Africa...
And, although there's no place for vocals in jazz, I do enjoy Ms Kent's work...
This is, I believe, her debut - she's now singed to Blue Note...
From the junk shop place, a nice Cat Stevens collection...
I bought this next one on its release but was extremely disappointed that it sounded nothing like Lanois' work with Eno...
I did think I might have already bought it again...
Ooops...
A couple by flugelhornist, Chuck Mangione...
Some 16 piece band jazz from the Count...
An anthology from, probably, Britain's biggest jazz star of the 50s and 60s...
Two by Miles, which I was surprised to find I did not have already...
...although I do have a burn of this from my library borrowing days...
And rounding off with something I'll probably never listen to...
Hey ho...
All in all though, good sounds were enjoyed this afternoon as I dipped into every single disc...
On Anne's triumphant return, a Chinese ordered from Wongs and duly collected...
I went for a very hot indeed Szechuan Vegetables - I think this will be my go to - not too heavy and extremely tasty...
Luna was in her place...
...as we enjoyed the last in the series of "Astrid", after switching away from the rugby...
Then, some late night listening to new stuff...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Wandering...
