Playlist
Various - Cloudland Blue Eclectic Selection 2024 Vol 22
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Live Suite 2024/25
Fripp & Eno - (No Pussyfooting)

Ready for action at 9:30 am - very late for me...

Out...

...and to the breakfast place...

Then, to Friedrichstrasse and Dussmann:Das Kulturkaufhaus, for a look at their CDs (while Anne walked to Alexanderplatz for a look around the shops there)...

This was a nice touch...

Some things of interest were photographed for future reference - all but three of these were found and added to the collection on my return home...

This will need to be compiled from the collection...

...and these also eluded me on my return...

Wider shots of the Berlin jazz scene were taken for future reference...

All of these were investigated on my return and turned out to be, shall we say, not good...

Interesting that, in the vinyl section, the record purporting to be playing was actually a CD...

I rest my case...

But did you actually buy anything Dave?

This, which is excellent...

...and this, which, sadly, is not...

But, you know, the 15 items I downloaded back home re this visit to Dussmann, are all top...

Out and this possible alien invasion captured opposite Dussmann...

A walk to meet up with Anne on Museum Island...

...past the university...

..and the Pergamon...

The cover of to be recorded in December, "Disquietmusik VIII", was captured...

...a la (possibly)...

...here...

Onwards...

I could see Anne...

A new bag had been partaken of...

We walked around a little more...

...before taking a tram back to Prenzlauer Berg, where I enjoyed the best chicken wrap in the world, for lunch...

...here...

Then, to here (Zeit fur Brot)...

...where Anne...

...had something she likes...

Back to the hotel for a bit and then out again...

...past Auf einem Sonntag im August...

...for the journey to the Modern Art Gallery i.e. Neue Nationalgalerie...

We arrived at five to four...

There we are, reflected in the windows...

And in...

First, Andy Warhol - an exhibition on the beauty of the male form...

I took rather a lot of pictures - here are 39 of them - it's almost like you're there...

Then, downstairs...

..for the second part of our visit - 100 Works for Berlin by my favourite artist, Gerhard Richter...

I took rather a lot of pictures, including many close up details of the works - here are 92 of them - it's almost like you're there...

The "Birkenau" Paintings...

...and details...

And then, over the way, for the third part of our visit, the curated collection...

Again, I took a lot of pictures - here are 66 of them - it's almost like you're there...

I remembered these two from the last time we were here six years ago...

So bad...  It's good...

Another Warhol...

...and out - noting the queue to have photos taken in the Warhol Photo Booth...

Who's that in the mirror?

To the shop - stuff coveted but prohibited both by price and ability to cart home...

Back upstairs...

And into the sunlight...

A bus and a U Bahn back...

And brief respite at the hotel, soundtracked by this - I need to get back to the rehearsals when I go home - and I can most likely add in some of the recordings I've made here and at Jorg's...

Out to the pizzeria at the top of Kastanienallee - we have dined here before, a while back...

Tasty...

These, of the walls...

A constitutional along our fave street, passing the two record shops which enjoyed my custom pre the Felsberg weekend...

Walking on...

...we found a wee bar with exorbitantly priced wine but we were on holiday...

...and we'd just enjoyed three top exhibitions for free...

Accordingly, a second beer for the gentleman...

...before heading home...

...where final refreshments were enjoyed...

Highlight of the Day : Richter...
