Saturday is here again!

...and first part of the day spent compiling a 1972 playlist re something or other on the Twitter...

..and then, playing all my demos of songs from 1972 recorded earlier this year - apart from the ones I released on "GLAM!" (which you can get here)...

...and this arrived from TQ, for whom I will be playing next January in Newcastle...

Loadsa freebies with it in the form of codes to be redeemed on Bandcamp - and a blank dice on which you can pencil in options to make random decisions...

I made one this afternoon, to head over to Meadowbank to see Queen of the South live for the first time since they lost in the Challenge Cup Final to Raith Rovers back in April 2022...

Paid at the gate (£11)...

...and in, to find them and their hosts for the day, Edinburgh City, warming up...

I obtained a seat directly in line with the halfway line...

...amongst a small but packed crowd...

Queens were on top from the off but it was Edinburgh City who went ahead on 14 mins with a simple nod in from a corner which had resulted from a wonder save by Queens' goalie, Botterill...

Goddamsonovabitch...

To half time with Queens still on top with loads of chances but no hitting of the net (not the back of the net, as that would, obviously, be a miss!)...

Half time views - I was sitting next to the home club's directors - one of whom failed to appear but whose seat was saved on numerous occasions as people asked if they could sit there...

Views behind the crowd - I suppose you might call this the concourse...

Teams were out for the second half...

...and off we went...

With 10 minutes remaining I Whatsapped the EP to advise QoS were by far the better team but just couldn't score and that it was excruciating to watch and that it might well be £11 down the pan...

And then they scored - Doherty on his debut...

..and then, they hit the post - a superb shot from the captain, Cochrane...

And then, with 7 minutes left, they scored again, via youngster McClelland...

The crowd, well the Queens element, went wild...

...and invaded the running track where the young lad was celebrating...

And so, it was deemed he'd breached the rules re crowd interaction and was yellow carded...

And then, red carded, as he'd picked a yellow up just before half time too...

So, Queens were down to 10 men for the remainder of the game plus 7 minutes added time...

Edinburgh City brought on their gigantic number 14, McLean...

...but 10 man Queens held out for the win and went 4th instead of 9th...

...and so, not £11 down the pan, as had seemed to be the case just 15 or 20 minutes ago...

Out...

...and past this big Art place, where Anne used to work when it was not an Art place...

Home for tea and telly and music listening...

A good day...

Highlight of the Day : Witnessing a Queens win, live...
