Thursday...

Up early as usual, doing goodness knows what...

The sky was good...

However my left foot was extremely sore - must've picked up a knock last night without noticing...

Spent some time updating the rolling playlist of the latest recordings of all the songs Capital Models have ever played...

...and, following on from last night's e-mail, listening to my rehearsals for the Newcastle gig in January...

Later, it was time to put up the splashback...

Absolute botch up - the holes are mostly in the wrong place, so the screws would not go in straight...

We abandoned it for now and put a call into Ryan the kitchen man to come and sort it...

After all, his minions put the holes in the wrong place and we should not have been left to try and put it up ourselves...

If the rawl plugs have to come out, the wall will need to be replastered and repainted...

Ouch..

Later still, the new clock arrived...

Pre hanging, it was time for lunch...

Spanish rice, tomato, green pepper and crème fraiche...

Yum...

The return of "The Lincoln Lawyer"...

And a cheeky wee magpie which has taken to landing on the window sill and looking in...

Later still, a new table cloth arrived out of the blue - who knows what the EP does when I'm not looking...

..and the clock was put up...

...along with a puffin pic...

By this time though, I was not feeling to great - the foot pain was not getting any better and I just felt ill (of course by tomorrow the illness would pass and, by Saturday, the foot would be back to normal)...

Upstairs, I'd bought this 3 CD set around 20 years ago and, today, gave it a listen...

Some of the pieces (Scarlatti, Chopin, Scriabin) were coincidentally recorded on my 5th, 12th and 13th birthdays...

Horowitz, who died aged 86 in 1989, was feted as the greatest pianist who ever lived…

More TV tonight on a reasonably uneventful day, apart from finding out the splashback is a total botch up...

Highlight of the Day : Nosy magpie...
