Tuesday and up at 7...

...with CDs to be ripped and listened to...

The holiday haul...

I had a download of this already but, when that happens I always say "it's good to have the real thing when it's good" - even if it cost 4 European Euros...

Some tasty reggae for 2 Euros can't be bad...

Some tasty mellow funk for 2 Euros can't be bad...

Some tasty Indian Raga music for 2 Euros can't be bad...

Some tasty tunes spun together by DJ Hell for 2 Euros can't be bad...

Always good to find that a sub 3 Euro bargain, on which you took an absolute chance, is top notch - as is the case with this quasi classical disc from Christopher Tignor...

Some tasty classical from a new to me composer for under 3 Euros also can't be bad...

And it includes the tune used in the ad for Cadbury's chocolate from the old days that went "Everyone's a Fruit & Nut case..."

OK this CD was 50 cents and it's really not very good at all...

Associació D'Artistes Suburbans  -  a secret reunion on March 1st, 2002, was surreptitiously recorded without the knowledge of the participants. Different parts of the recordings were sent to to a number of select musicians with the idea to create base rhythms using the recorded voices as source
material...

Once developed, each of the base rhythms was then applied to a series of musical constructions compiled by the A.A.S. between 1981 and 2002....

All work was carried out anonymously with further recordings being added to the creations thus far by another group of musicians, again, all working separately from each other...

The result is a large number of musicians all playing together, but with none of them knowing who else they are working with...

And the results are as dreadful as you might imagine...

Maybe one day I'll give it another listen...

Then, from the market in Tarragona...

Some more tasty classical for one Euro fifty each can't be bad...

...especially when this item has almost four hours of music on it, spread over 3CDs (though, sadly not it's card box or big book)...

Also created today was the collection of the tracks I Shazammed at the Art School in Barcelona...

Also tasty!

And, Edward Spark sent me a DJ Mix he's been working on recently...

Of course I had to muck about with that and created an instrumental mix of a couple of the tracks...

And I was invited to work on a couple of remixes for Vancouver based electronica girl, Socool...

And, I have a new pair of Sambas...

It's all good...

Who's this?

Yep, Fang popped by and showed me the new kitchen...

...and his picture on the calendar which Anne had forgotten to change re all the new kitchen turmoil...

...and I showed him my new wee stone...

...which put him to sleep...

In the evening, we put all the stuff back into the kitchen and, lo, it was good...

I am writing this on the 15th of July, by which time my feelings of sadness and guilt, re the death of the wee puppy Rita two days ago, are much more manageable...

Nothing I could have done and nothing I can do now...

And so, onwards...

Highlight of the Day : New music, new kitchen...
