Today would have been sister Pam's 56th birthday.  She will always be 48...

Here's a pic from around 1969 I think...

l-r Pam, me, Sheila, Gran'ma...

Some recordings of Seligenstadt were made from the bedroom window first thing, for use at some point in the future no doubt...

Looked like a good day ahead...

An excellent buffet breakfast...

...and back to the room and check out...

...and into the sun...

This was a lovely wee town...

Off we went to explore...

We soon found ourselves down at the banks of the Main, as in Frankfurt-am-Main - the ferry takes people from Hessen to Bavaria...

Back into town...

There were some stalls in the market place...

Guess from which box on the table I partook of some items?

More walking around...

..and back to opposite the hotel for a visit to the Klostergarten...

...with its noisy chickens...

...it's resting sheep...

...it's views of our car...

...and it's, also noisy but impressive, peacocks...

Further into the grounds...

...and through the back into the gardens...

...where purchases were inspected...

I returned to the stall before we left for Erfurt...

 ...and added to my swag...

The trip today...

For lunch, we stopped at Bad Hersfeld...

The town was was celebrating "Hessen Day" - no pics but suffice to say roads were blocked off and the town was extremely busy...

We continued on our way, arriving at our apartment in Erfurt just after 2 in the afternoon...

Nice...

Priority set up...

Out, heading for the centre - the houses in our street were impressive...

The tram was just five minutes away...

...and were soon uptown...

...and finding our way around...

Hmmm...

Overlooking the river Gera and its canals...

...we found a nice spot for a rest...

...and some refreshment...

...before taking in more of the sights...

This was pretty impressive...

The cathedral on the left and St Severi Church on the right... (click to enlarge)

The annual festival named after the town's most famous bridge was due to start tomorrow night...

The set up was in full swing...

On into the old town...

Looking back...

Udo was in town tomorrow night and the night after...

Hmmm, part two...

The famous Krämerbrücke...

...one of the world's oldest bridges still to have businesses operating from it...

More river views followed, as we continued to wander...

Eventually, more refreshment was required and we found ourselves at Noah's...

...where several beers were tied and found to be good...

Cheers!

We kept seeing very nice food pass our table and so decided to dine here too...

Yumtastic local specialties nourished....

With everyone sitting out in the courtyard, the inside of this lovely wee pub was deserted...

A long days travelling and much walking about had taken its toll, so a tram took us back home to relax and hit the sack...

Ready for Udo tomorrow night...

Highlight of the Day : Local specialties at Noah's...
