Not out for breakfast...

Around midday to the bank and then over to the infirmary...

Mum will be released on Monday - for the time being, walking is being practised...

Home for a quick lunch and then a rush to Stenhousemuir for Queen of the South's first competitive match of the season in a five team mini-league to commence the League Cup...

We arrived just as the game kicked off...

Stenhousemuir are in the fourth tier, Queens in the second - on paper this should have been easy...

The rain was drizzling down...

The wind was blowing fiercely against QoS...

After 16 mins we were 1-0 down to a stonewall penalty - the manager was not happy...

Despite 60% possession, we could not break through for an equaliser...

The view from the office this afternoon...

Finally, after around 65 minutes, our talisman, Stephen Dobbie, scored with a shot from the edge of the box which, it must be said, took a deflection...

Just after 80 minutes Queens took the lead after Dobbie floated a free kick into the box to see it expertly headed home by Sean Rooney, on his debut, the new right back who had conceded the penalty in the first half...

Two minutes later and Dobbie stepped up again, blasting home a shot from well outside the box right into the bottom left corner of the goal...

All over...

I must admit when Queens were 1-0 down and struggling to make any headway, I thought a draw might be an excellent result...

All in all, not the best performance ever from our team and, as last season, relying a little to heavily on the Dobster...

He is by far and away the best player in our league - his footballing brain is on another level...

The team was applauded off the pitch - something which, half an hour earlier seemed like an impossibility...

Home through the still falling rain...

This evening, out for a tasty, unpictured, meal at the Omar Khayam at Haymarket...

Unpictured apart from this, post starter...

A bus home and we chose to alight at the terminus...

And so, by chance, we bumped into neighbours Gail and Kevin as they headed up onto the hill to pick raspberries...

By the time our extended chat had finished, it was probably getting too dark to see any fruit...

A wee dog entertained as we made our way down the hill...

...where we were joined by Tiger the Cat...

...who knows when he's on to a good thing...

...and, as predicted inside his wee feline head, goodies were indeed dispensed...

A late coffee and some relaxing music before hitting the sack...

An enjoyable Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : Out with Anne...
