Hmm, the pile of holiday CDs is rather tall...

Not to worry...

Out for rolls...

Breakfast at home...

Then, a walk up the long and lovely, tree-lined Scheveningseweg...

...eschewing the tram...

...our target appeared through the trees...

Vredespalais - The Peace Palace - read about it here or here...

Set up in (ironically) 1913 at the suggestion of the then Czar of Russia as a place for nations to negotiate disputes instead of going to war...

Carnegie donated $1.5m (in today's terms $36.14m) on the understanding that it would also house a library...

The Peace Palace is a major reason why The Hague became the world's centre of justice and judicial thinking...

...and it looks quite good too...

Our walk continued into The Hague, past the war memorial next to the palace...

..and coffee and cake was very much enjoyed back at probably our favourite area, Noordeinde, in Lola - a cafe/bike shop...

...where we met Strik the Dog...

...and a groovy cat...

Good weather today - not that we depend on the weather to enjoy holidays...

To Lange Voorhout...

...to visit a gallery first spotted on Monday but closed at that point, Pulchri Studio - where our host Petra has exhibited...

Anne asked, "why do you take pics of all the pictures?" and I responded "so that I can have the gallery in my own home" - and here it is...

Unfortunately, I recorded none of the artists' names but here's a link to this superb (and free) gallery - a visit is much recommended if you're ever in The Hague...

This was their Spring Show...

...with, in the main, just one piece each by each artist...

Possibly my fave...

Anne's fave...

Another fave...

Life imitates art...

Another fave...

This was the prizewinner...

...and out...

Beautiful...

Once again we did not queue and enter the Mauritshuis to see its collection of Old Masters - maybe next time...

Back to the Binnenhof...

And a wander round the Plein...

..and some shopping for things Anne likes...

Back to Nordeinde...

...and Le Duc...

Music today was mostly Stevie Wonder...

A walk back to the No 1 tram...

...and home...

In the evening, out to nearby Pastanini...

Erm, please remember my pizza is very close to the camera...

Later, some cheeky wee beers were enjoyed...

...as we relaxed...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Pulchri...
