Today, off to Amsterdam...
...to Amsterdam Centraal Station...
A walk down into the town with a stop off for coffee in a bar with a Meg the Black Cat look-a-like...
To Dam Square...
We met at Spui and took a tram back towards Centraal Station and then walked over to Jordaan...
...for lunch at de Blaffende Vis (the Barking Fish) - one of our regularly visited Amsterdam bars...
A stroll around the environs - much better than the British Stag and Hen Party dominated main drag...
Slightly better cat pic...
...it was a short walk to...
...Concerto - definitely the best record shop in the 'Dam...
Anne was able to enjoy a nice coffee in their cafe whilst surfing the net, while your correspondent trawled the second hand section...
I picked up this lot for just twenty of your European Euros...
Post Rock/Soundscapes in a late Talk Talk vein...
Five CDs of contemporary guitar studies...
The best of Isaac Hayes tenure on Polydor...
A two on one by Dutch experimental new wavers, The Nits...
Prog rock from post Nice/pre Yes collaboration...
...and some young German jazzers' take on the first ever space walk...
Further strolling ensued...
To the Rembrandtplein and a set of statues which we'd not seen before for some reason...
The Night Watch...
...and so, to Het Molenpad, another favourite haunt of the CBQ team...
More walking and then a tram to the Stedelijk Modern Art Gallery...
This says it all about Modern Art....
A huge statue was being craned into place...
The Rijksmuseum, not visited now for over thirty years, was for a future visit...
Dinner at Bojo - tasty Indonesian again...
...and a last walkabout...
Back to Centraal Station...
..and a train back to Den Haag for a quiet night in...
Highlight of the Day : Concerto...

Today, off to Amsterdam...
Breakfast was a pastry each at den Haag Centraal Station,,,
...and then, a swift 40 minute journey...
...to Amsterdam Centraal Station...
A walk down into the town with a stop off for coffee in a bar with a Meg the Black Cat look-a-like...
To Dam Square...
We split up and I was looking for Fame, the biggest record store in Holland (or used to be)...
Very disappointing - it's moved to smaller premises and, sadly, had nothing to offer Mr CBQ...
Not to worry - at nearby Velvet Music (where I bought Herman Van Veen yesterday in Delft), there was nice big second hand section, where I picked up discs by further Dutch faves Herman Brood and The Nits...
A walk round the canals to meet up with the Exec Producer...
Second not very well executed pic of a cat today....
We met at Spui and took a tram back towards Centraal Station and then walked over to Jordaan...
...for lunch at de Blaffende Vis (the Barking Fish) - one of our regularly visited Amsterdam bars...
Anne was suitably impressed with my acquisitions - not really...
A stroll around the environs - much better than the British Stag and Hen Party dominated main drag...
Slightly better cat pic...
A tram to Frederiksplein...
..from where...
...it was a short walk to...
...Concerto - definitely the best record shop in the 'Dam...

Further strolling ensued...
To the Rembrandtplein and a set of statues which we'd not seen before for some reason...
The Night Watch...
Time for a beer or two...
...and so, to Het Molenpad, another favourite haunt of the CBQ team...
An excellent, unpictured, canal-side setting
More walking and then a tram to the Stedelijk Modern Art Gallery...
This says it all about Modern Art....
A nice walk through the Museumplein with the Concertgebouw in the background...
A huge statue was being craned into place...
The Rijksmuseum, not visited now for over thirty years, was for a future visit...
Dinner at Bojo - tasty Indonesian again...
...and a last walkabout...
...including passing the Hans Brinker Hotel, where we stayed on our first visit in 1982...
Back to Centraal Station...
Highlight of the Day : Concerto...
