Compiled playlists this morning of LPs bought in 1972, 1973 and 1974 - I had every one apart from a couple of old compilations, which I was able to recreate, as all the tracks were available elsewhere in the collection or easily sourced...

These albums soundtracked the day...

More items to the tip this morning, including this picture, which had been in our loft for years and once had pride of place on the wall in my mum's Uncle Bill & Aunt Elsie's home...

Then, on to Ikea to purchase some stuff, including shelves for the new room and for the attic re-organisation...

I wondered how much of all the stuff bought today at Ikea will end up at the tip over the next five to ten years...

Then, to my mum's - with old photographs also once housed at her Uncle Bill's...

Mum enjoyed the soundtrack of "Super 70's Rock"...

She did not recognise Pink Floyd's "Money" but has heard of "Dark Side of the Moon"...

Back home to carry out some assemblage whilst listening to Queen of the South do their best to knock The Rangers out of the play-offs...

After 35 minutes of unrelenting pressure from the home team, Queens went ahead against the run of play...

This sucker punch knocked the wind out of The Rangers' sails and the game wa much more even form then on,,,

The goal equalised the two leg tie at 2-2...

But, almost inevitably, just after the Doonhamers squandered a golden chance to win the tie, The Rangers equalised with 30 minutes to go...

Despite a late onslaught by Queens with corner after corner, they couldn't score again and so The Rangers, whose squad costs probably around 20 to 30 times that of the Queens' playing staff, scraped through 3-2 on aggregate...

Hopefully Hibernian or even Motherwell can block The Rangers' progress and Queens can vanquish them next season...

Meanwhile, success elsewhere...

Art and music reading materials now housed here...

...and a slightly tidier back room too...

...but still some work to be done...

...and then some...

Getting there...

To the Blue Blazer in the evening for The Listening Room, following a conversation last night with Jim Igoe and my first outing since last summer's two song stint at the same club, different venue...

So, I've now played four CBQ songs live since March 2012...

Hmmm...

Old chum Ian Sclater was also along, I didn't get a shot of him in action though - his new songs impressed...

This chap was a superb guitarist...

This 70 year old American was even less active on the live circuit than me - he advised this was his first performance for 50 years!

A young Irish lad who played with his eyes shut and seemed always to be on the brink of falling over also gave us a couple of songs...

As did the host, Lyndsay Shieds...

Before headliner, Cameron Phair played his full set to, as is always the case at The Listening Room, a small but appreciative audience...

For the record, my own two songs, stalwarts "I Rearranged the House" and "Twenty Twenty Vision" were both well executed and received despite any hint of rehearsal...

Which was nice...

Home by around 9:15 and further catch up on the Tivo...

Lights out on a good weekend...

Highlight of the Day : Tidying progress and performing...
