A strange, very enjoyable day...

To the grocery store first thing for breakfast and lunch provisions...

This collection of sparrows entertained...

Spent most of the day waiting to perform - on the laptop mucking about with music...

At one point, something at the window caught my eye...

What's this...

It's our wee chum the squirrel (or possibly one of his/her chums)...

I am a fan of squirrels...

Decided not to rehearse today, I reckoned 14 hours in the last seven days was probably enough...

A trip to Holland was organised before I packed the stuff up ready to go...

To The Kilted Pig at 7:30 for the British Heart Foundation Fund Raiser in memory of my very much missed friend and musical compadre, Jamie Frain...

Load in around 8...

At 8:30, the Turkish Barbers did their stuff...

Second from right is artist chum Pete Swanson, who gave a lovely card of his painting "Moonflower" to Anne...

Jamie's best mate Joe subjected himself to a "number zero" for the cause...

Initially maintaining a very jaunty minimal mohican...

A raffle took place between sets one and two...

Chum Lynn managed to bag a bottle of Drambuie...

A tidy stage is a happy stage...

Although we were happy tonight, the stage was not tidy - wires everywhere...

At our first break, beards became moustaches...

Flamboyance was attempted by your correspondent...

Senior Wilson maintained a vigil "backstage" throughout the evening...

Thanks to so many friends for coming along to support the night, which raised over £3,000 for the cause...

Lynn and her sister Joan...

Brother in law Keith, sister in law Maureen and chum Ishbel...

Pure Bears Paul Reynolds and George Coleman, Robert Hind, brother of US Resident Capital Model Nicky Hind, and back to rude health CMs drummer and stand up extraordinaire Mr Jim Park...

Creek mainman, Mr Craig Sutherland...

..and producer of Creek drones, atmospheres, bleeps - and top photographer - Stuart Cobley...

First set - courtesy Mr Sutherland...

A rare shot of original CMs Angus Bolton and, a costume-changed Mr CBQ, with Jim's successor, Mr Keith Apter....

Jamie's mum and dad were along - great to see them again - they understood my outlandish facial hair was for charity...

Brother in Law Bobby - also with facial input for the night and raiser of a further handsome sum still to boost the total...

Keep on rockin' in the free world...

Starman singalong...

Keith and chum Rod, husband to Ishbel...

Great too to see an unpictured John and Ali from Impossible Songs along and boogie-ing...

I will never get used to people dancing to music I play...

It's not often I'll be seen in green...

...but the evening was supposed to have a Mexican theme - my T Shirt from the 1970 World Cup was the only Mexican thing I saw in the venue all night...

Nephew Andy's songs went down a treat...

The auction raised much of the cash on the night...

...and I think everyone had a great time...

This autographed poster signed by the scorers of the Exec Producer's beloved Hearts' 5-1 defeat of arch rivals Hibs in the cup final a couple of years back contributed too to the total...

A great night and, post performance, time for some chat with people not seen often enough...

Pack up, before taking Joe and Mr Reynolds into town, finally home around 2 am...

Last picture of the much admired outlandish moustache - and proposed third set but actually encore, outfit...

Cheer up Dave!

...which was cut down to this...

...before, finally, back to basics and, with the beard gone, I realise I've still got a long way to go...

Getting there though - here's a comparison with how I looked at my last three appearances at the Pig of Kiltedness in April and December 2012 and in December 2013...
Meanwhile, this happened during "Rocking in the Free World"...

Aftermath...

To bed at 2:30 - I think we did Jamie proud but how I wish he could have been with us...

Highlight of the Day : Performing for Jamie...

Great night D. Nice pics. Great way to remember Jamie.
You should've kept the moustache though.

The 'tache had to go - I did enjoy having the facial hair though and it's, of course, an option for the future...
