Listening back to yesterday's rehearsal tapes first thing and posting up last week's podcast...

Ruminating over possible setlist changes should Jim Park be able to play a couple of numbers with us after all...

Breakfast at home to the delightful sounds of Schubert's Quintet in C - unconventional in that it features two celli rather than the normal quintet line up of two violins, two violas and one cello - and the recording, from my reasonably recently acquired 60CD Vivarte box set, features Stradivarius Instruments on loan from the Smithsonian Institute...

It doesn't get much better really...

Out - the sleepy wee moth still at the back door...

Shopping for new knitwear at midday - several cardigans and a new jumper acquired for winter wearing...

...as my then gone beard will no longer warm me up...

Then to The Steading restaurant, to meet up for a long leisurely lunch with mum and chums now of over 50 years, Lex and Moira, through for a visit from Bearsden...

A light fishcakes and salad combination for your correspondent, with steak pie on the menu later at Anne's mum's...

Excellent food and excellent chat too, as it always is with the sprightliest septuagenarians we know - and an added bonus, Lex has gifted me his old set of golf clubs, having seen here that I recently played a round of said ball whacking game - I will need to do some more golfing, in an Alice Cooper stylee of course...

By the time we left the restaurant, it was late afternoon and dark....

Here, Moira gives my mum a hand to their car...

Meanwhile, Anne and I headed to her mum's for the fortnightly family tea, attended by a now moustachiod Bobby...

...with Jane, Olly and Kitty and by Keith and Maureen...

As usual, Kitty...

...was in charge of the camera...

She is off to London tomorrow on a cultural school trip - nephew Olly enjoyed the self same itinerary when he did the same a few years ago......

More good chat, including much about music and why we like particular songs and loathe others, with Jane looking up examples on her phone via Youtube...

Also on the net is a film about the school where Anne's mum attends her art classes - she is featured for a second or so, painting a scene from Anne and I's holiday in Konigssee in 2013...

Home and working on four end of year podcasts featuring my "songs of the week" from throughout 2014, a year of which there are now just five weeks left...

Finished the day with "Sportscene" and Hearts' glorious win over The Rangers...

Highlight of the Day : New threads and meet ups...
