Up at six, after around just four and a half hours' sleep and back to fixing the computer set up, making the Netbook the new hub of the system...

While various programmes were downloading or being set up, I started the much put off integration of "recently" acquired CDs (probably back to last autumn) into the main body of the kirk...

Out to Helen the Podiatrist at nine, then a quick drive to the library for ten to return items borrowed three weeks ago...

Back home and more computer work sucked in the day, till around two thirty when we set off on foot for Jane and Bobby's place...

There was much photographing going on for today was Bobby's 50th...

Young ladies were in attendance...

...and young men...

...and niece kitty showed me her brother's room...

...and her own...

Drinking, chatting, nibble eating and music listening took place...

...while dogs played in the garden..

A superb buffet was not pictured but was scoffed, followed by this imaginative cake scenario from Jane...

The birthday boy and his mum...

The Exec Producer enjoys a cake on a stick...

Debris...

Later on, the weather picked up enough for people to venture outside...

Kitty showed off her gymnastic skills while her brother and his friends were off at a nearby park playing football...

Everyone was having a little too much to drink...

...and the trampoline was proving popular...

...as the boys returned...

Meanwhile, back indoors, the drinking and carousing continued...

Eventually, Bobby joined his daughter on the trampoline...

An unwise move...

Trampolines are better for kids...

Especially given this scenario...

Back outdoors, a footie match involved much hacking down of children by your correspondent and his colleagues...

...this bruise on a young boy's leg, testimony to the carnage...

The celebrations continued...

Late on, Kitty wasn't too enamoured with her new look, which involved her uncle's specs...

And so to an end and a bus home and straight to bed for an overindulged musician and his Exec Producer...

An excellent day...

But trampolines are not for a quinquagenarian...

Highlight of the Day : Birthday party...
