It was Pierce Brosnan of course...

Billy Cobham - Rudiments : An Anthology
Yes - The Yes Album
Yes - Close to the Edge
Yes - Going for the One
Emerson Lake & Palmer - Emerson Lake & Palmer

Up before six again and checking the computer was working - it was...

A new route down to the zoo - less traffic to detrimentally affect my listening...

Today, the walking soundtrack comprised the three Yes albums Dr Prog and I will see performed live in their entirety next May in Glasgow, following a successful procurement of rather expensive tickets...

To Fopp to pick up the one remaining "Art of the Trio" disc by The Brad Mehldau Trio I don't have (vol 4 - although I do have it as a burn)...

In the evening, a wee night out along at the East end of Princes Street...

A walk through the gardens...

This statue featured on the cover of one of my cassette releases in 1981...

I have to say it's lasted better than my music of the time...

A quiz at the Balmoral was the event and me and chums Raymondo, Tracey and Christine, were defending our 2012 title, won back in November by just one point...

Unfortunately, our sports guru Big Al was taken ill in the afternoon and unable to attend - not even the prospect of free drink, tasty canapes and a gourmet buffet could entice him...

He would have known that the only teams outside of Glasgow Celtic and Glasgow Rangers to have won the Scottish League more than three times were Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen...

Also absent was master of the iPhone (just to check answers we already knew were correct, of course), Gaz...

Opposite the hotel, people were out on the roof enjoying the warm sunshine...

An enjoyable evening...

Our team, supplemented by one of the hosts, numbered just five...

We managed a creditable fourth place, just four points off the nine-man winning team...

Contributing to our fall from champions status though, was a mind-blank scenario from your correspondent during the buzzer round re the pre Daniel Craig James Bond...

I could see his face and buzzed and then took a couple of seconds too long to recall the name...

Instead of leaving the floor with the top score of three, I skulked away with just one...

How are the mighty fallen...

Not sure though if that was worse than Tracey's insistance that the first note of the track "I Just Want to Make Love to You" by Etta James was "500 Miles" by The Proclaimers...

Not to worry - it's only a game...

Airport bus home to witness a cringeworthy appearance on "Question Time" by Russell Brand...

Gave up haf way through "This Week" and hit the sack, slightly the worse for wear...

Highlight of the day : Quiz night...
