Today, a trip down the East Coast via the A1...
A 250 track MP3 disc of top tunes coming in below 3:50 was compiled first thing - 10 hours of music for around 4 hours of driving...
This is how I waste my time...
First stop, Dunbar...
..and its co-operatively owned bakery...
It has 616 owners at present...
..and some lovely bakery type stuff on sale...
Unlike Kelso yesterday, Dunbar seems to be thriving - although, like many small towns in Scotland, there are an awful lot of coffee shops and food outlets dominating the high street...
I liked the look of the nearby cement works too...
Down to the harbour...
Back to the High St...
..where a later to be found to be faulty cat based clock was purchased for the kitchen...
On down the coast, through Bamburgh to Seahouses for lunch (fish and chips of course)...
...followed by a walk along the coast line...
...and down onto the beach...
To Alnwick and Barter Books...
I had put together a box of books which I no longer wanted and was very surprised by the generous amount of "barter" awarded to me in their stead...
I didn't partake of this book - written by one Alyn Brodsky (as opposed to old chum Alan "Count Brodski" Brodie)...
But chose these two...
Eventually, I put back the European tome, as, on closer inspection, it didn't have anything on art beyond around 1950...
I left with a large credit note still intact for future use and had taken two CDs of Ravel's piano works and a Jacques Loussier Trio disc of the same composer's "Bolero" - along with a book on 20th Century music...
On to Alnmouth, a lovely, peaceful find...
A film was being shot across the water...
Here, the Ferry Hut...
Anne loved it...
A very relaxing stroll...
Last stop as we headed back North was Bamburgh...
...for a quick coffee to keep me awake on the drive up the A1...
Lovely weather...
Back home and some space had been made for these...
...including Ian Hunter's new album which arrived today after being ordered on Monday night...
By comparison, I still await delivery of Hindemith's string quartet's which has been on its way from America now for over two weeks...
Highlight of the day : A drive down the coast...

Great to see you guys so close to Whitley Bay! It's about 50 minutes or so from Alnmouth to our front door! Next time you're planning a similar trip let us know.
Will do Sid - our trips during this week were fairly ad hoc....
Of course I will need to return to Barter Books to use up my unexpectedly whopping credit note...
