Up around 6am...

Brian Eno's new album, "Lux" was broadcast at four specific times today, to capture the different lighting of the day...

During each play, listeners were invited to take photos wherever they were and upload them onto the "Lux" site, as part of an evolving public audio-visual project...

Accordingly, I took some pics and uploaded this one of Meg looking out the back bedroom window...

Shortly afterwards, it appeared on the site and the red dot under it indicated it had been chosen by Eno and his team for the project...

Sure enough, a few minutes later, an e-mail was received...

...and shortly thereafter, there was Meg being beamed around the world by Mr Eno...

Well done Meg...

Breakfast at home before driving into town, parking at the Saturday place and taking a three or so mile walk around town...

Down to St Mary's Street - first home of Reptile Records 1991-1995...

...round Jeffrey Street, looking over to Calton Hill...

...under the North Bridge...

...over the Waverley Bridge...

...past the Scott Monument (Thunderbird 3 on Princes Street) and the Xmas Big Wheel...

...past St Andrew Square...

...and, inevitably, into F*pp - where another 6CD box of Miles Davis (complete Columbia recordings with John Coltrane) was procured along with best of collections by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Shawn Colvin, the latter for her rendition of "Witchita Lineman" (as I already have a best of by her)...

A goodly number of DVDs was also partaken of for their future entertainment value - even though we have many, many in the house already, lying unwatched for months and, in some cases, years...

On along Rose St, looking down to the National Gallery and its Bellany retrospective...

...and in the back door of a large department store, where a new coat was tried on and deemed acceptable...

Down through Princes Street Gardens...

...under the Castle...

...and round to the Grassmarket...

...for a black and white coffee stop at Little Italy...

Is that buyer's regret kicking in re Miles and the coat?

Nah...

It was the discovery that the Witchita track on the Colvin collection was actually one her own compositions "Witchita Skyline"...

Not to worry...

Back out into the sun...

...up Candlemaker Row...

...over George IV Bridge...

..and down Chamber Street...

...and back...

...to the Saturday place...

An abortive attempt to offload the Blue Peter annuals found last week at my mums was followed by an encounter with police motorcyclists stopping the traffic to allow some Royal Rugby Tube right of passage through the Meadows...

Extremely annoying...

As was the protracted roundabout route we had to take home to avoid the traffic jams caused by "ordinary" rugby tubes heading to Murrayfield to see Scotland's inevitable thrashing at the hands (and feet) of the Springboks...

Week in, week out in Scotland, club rugby matches are watched by ten men and a dog yet, for internationals 60,000 rugby tubes come out of the woodwork...

What's with that?...

Finally home and a quick lunch then a lift for Anne towards her mum's for today's Hearts match v St Mirren - a  glorious 1-0 win (while QoS moved even further clear at the top of their division, still unbeaten)...

Back home, some rehearsing for the end of year covers gig, new songs worked through which may be added to the set list...

Following the new coat purchase, several jackets were designated for charitable status along with the Blue Peter annuals...

This as yet unworn suit was rediscovered languishing in the wardrobe - with the recent weight loss, it very nearly fits and I can actually fasten the collar of my shirt...

I am down around 18 pounds...

Just four stones to go...

In the evening, the thus far loss was put under strain by a tasty vegetable madras, albeit with boiled rice, while Annie enjoyed her usual chicken tikka bhuna...

"Strictly" kind of entertained and "Merlin" followed - I am finding the unlikely turning evil of Guinevere slightly erm, unlikely...

Then, the first two episodes of "The Killing III"...

Top dark Danish entertainment...

Another busy Saturday...

Highlight of the day : Meg on the Eno internet installation...
