Bully boys...

Playlist
Miles Davis – Quintet 1965-68
Journey – Journey
Elvis Presley – Elvis Presley

Miles soundstracked and, despite yesterday's outlays, another walk to F*pp - I took a round about route to cover almost three miles there and back...

Entering the collection today were debuts from Journey and Elvis Presley...

Of course when Journey started they were not the slick AOR machine that later produced the now ubiquitous "Don't Stop Believin'" - no, they weer kind of prog rock...

As for Elvis, well it's very hard, almost 60 years on to imagine what people must have thought the first time they heard "Blue Suede Shoes"...

Three years on from its release, this album was still the top "pop" LP on the day I was born...

I was going to use http://chartarchive.org/ to recall some background re chart placings but am now having to do so from memory...

A message on the site explains "The official charts company has requested that I remove all chart data. They claim that I am in breach of their database copyright by publishing any chart based on UK single sales. Thank to everyone for your support over the years, I have had loads of messages from people over the years who have found the site invaluable and I am very sorry to let down the people that rely on my data.

I did try to explain to the Official Charts Company that I was offering a service that was not available anywhere else and that it was a non-commercial service but my pleas fell on deaf ears. I hope that in the long term the Official Charts Company will realise that my innovations have not detracted from their potential earnings but in fact have encourage people with an interest in the charts. Perhaps they will one day offer some of the features that I have been providing here but I wouldn't hold your breath! Thanks again to all those who have supported the site and helped out. Matt"

If you go to the Official Charts Company's site it's frankly shite if you want to delve deep into the chart stats - they could learn a thing or two from Chart Archive...

So sad to see all that painstaking work wiped...

If they're going to swagger about the internet shutting people who do a far better job than they do down, then they need to buck their ideas up...

What a bunch of...

Fair enough they own the copyright to all the data - but they're doing nothing helpful with the data really...

Idiots...

I can't be bothered writing anything else now...

Highlight of the Day : Journey's Kahoutek...
