Up and plenty to do today...

Out, post home-based breakfast, for some clothes shopping – one of my most hated activities...

Availed myself of numerous T-Shirts, polo shirts and actual shirts, a new hat and a pair of slippers (to go with my pipe), while Anne got some things she likes...

Then, dropped Anne at Tesco re ingredients for tonight’s pre-gig visit from Lynn and Ross – while I drove on to the Royal Mail depot...

...to pick up the Schumann Box Set which the postie had been unable to get through our letter box yesterday...

Mission accomplished and back to Tesco to pick Anne up and back home, where I tested the size of the box versus the letter box and found the postie’s spatial awareness to be somewhat wanting...

The majority of the afternoon was spent rehearsing and recording cover versions...

...while Annie kept me posted on the footie scores – Queen of the South were at Livingston on the first day of the season and were 2-0 up only to end up drawing 2-2, the equaliser being a penalty whoch resulted in a sending off...

Plus ca change...

Around seven, picked up Lynn and Ross and brought them to Crispycat Towers where much beer, mini spring rolls and red Thai Chicken Curry was enjoyed...

...before a taxi was called to take us over to Jamie Frain’s gig at The Kilted Pig...

Arriving not long after us was Pure Bear Mr Paul Reynolds and, joining us around 11, along came Lynn’s sisters and entourage...

The evening (which featured some inappropriate dancing and a good number of guest vocalists) was a charity fund raiser for Edinburgh’s Sick Kids Hospital and Jamie’s first set was cut short for an auction of various prizes, many of them Hibernian FC-centric for some reason...

I took to the floor around 11:15...

...and, although my set was to have been five songs, it stretched to nine (a facsimile of the CBQ set is up over at the CBQ Live Site) and seemed well received, although I am not a patch on Jamie as regards covers sets...

Then, more fund-raising, followed by Jamie’s second set...

...which, once again, featured a few guest spots in relation to songs being purchased in aid of charity – indeed, right at the very end, someone donated £20 to hear me and Jamie duet on Elvis Presley’s “The Wonder of You”...

We were only too pleased to oblige...

Packed up and out into the rain for a taxi home...

To bed at 2 am...

A good day....

Highlight of the Day : Performing...
