..then, further shopping for fruit and water...
..before walking through the town...
...to the station...
...for today's 20 minute journey, over the border to Italy and the town of Ventimiglia...
Over the bridge to the old town...
...which was, of course, at the top of a hill...
Lovely old church...
...another church, including art exhibition...
The back streets...
..including yet another church...
...and children playing...
The tall buildings provided some respite...
...from the unforgiving sun...
A well earned beer at Bar Canada - no signs as to why it should be thus named...
On, back towards the station - into the public gardens...
...where a game of boules entertained...
The journey continued past the town hall...
...and to the station...
Arrivederci Ventimiglia...
We alighted early, at Menton Garavan...
Our target was this...
...an ice cream buffet - choose a plate, fill it with ice cream and various coverings - and pay according to the weight..
Mine came to around ten of your English pounds - oops...
Back along the harbour front...
...up the steps to St Michel...
...and a quick look inside, just as it was closing...
Over the top of the hill and back to the house...
...where refreshments were enjoyed prior to a tasty tea, courtesy of our early morning market visit...
Tonight, we stayed in, enjoyed the views...
...and relaxed and read...
