Another lovely morning...
This collage gives the full view from the bedroom window...
After the now usual trip down to the town to acquire croissants for a delicious apartment-based breakfast, we were off and out on a trip..
Walking to the train station...
Past the town hall...
...to catch the train to Monaco/Monte Carlo...
...which took around 15 minutes...
A walk through the opulent streets, heading for the palace on the hill...
...through the morning market...
..and up the slope, enjoying the views of the city state...
...which seemed to be being brought into disrepute by a man with a pancaked face...
Oh dear - arrested for being tacky...
Erm...
Anyway, our visit continued in the sweltering heat...
Another "Facebook Photo"...
...was followed by a walk around the streets of the old town...
...to the fountains and gardens...
...and private lifts...
...down to the marina...
Someone wasn't particularly enjoying the heat...
More fountains...
...and, outside the museum of oceanography, a yellow submarine...
On through the gardens with its views of the Med...
... to the Cathedral, which houses the last resting place of the actress, Grace Kelly...
...next door to the office of justice (I think)...
Back through the streets, picking up some lunch on the way...
...which we enjoyed whilst overlooking another marina and Monaco's football stadium...
The Exec Producer helped out a Japanese tourist...
...before being snapped herself...
One last wander round the main square...
...including a change of guard...
...then out and back down to the town...
...through the pedestrianised zone...
...and back to the station...
In Menton, coffee and cakes were enjoyed...
...and an antiques emporium, "Allo Robert", was browsed around...
...before returning to the apartment to get out of the searing heat...
This little dog lives opposite - it sits on the wall and watches people pass without making a noise - unless they notice it, then it barks its head off...
In the evening, a walk around the old harbour, taking in the sunset...
...before heading to the town for dinner...
Tonight, an outdoor pizza...
...followed by a checking out of the "entertainment"...
...and a "Brain Freeze" granita each from this purveyor of cold things...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Coffee and cakes and a walk around the harbour...
