I had one jukebox...

Now I have five...

I need to re-organise my portable music methinks - but I have not yet finished reorganising the actual CDs which are the source of said music - this is how I waste my time...

And I've noticed my hair is getting a bit too long too...

A rough night for the Exec Producer last night, not well at all – and spent the entire day in bed, missing Hearts being beaten 2-0 at home by Kilmarnock (Queens suffered a similar defeat at home to Raith) and niece Kitty’s dance show in the evening...

I must advise too that my own gyp, which has been with me now for around five weeks is lingering...

However, I was up around 8am and compiled a disc of the music we heard on Thursday night at the Queen’s Hall – with the exception of one short piece by Purcell, which I replaced with his beautiful lament from “Dido and Aeneas”, “When I Am Laid in Earth”...

Then, leaving Annie sleeping, off uptown to meet with Dr Prog at the music library...

I borrowed discs by Klaus Schulze (an excellent 3CD set of live stuff from the mid to late seventies), Soft Machine’s “The Land of Cockayne” (with sleeve notes by none other than fellow blogger, Mr Sid Smith) and the latest disc from ex-Mahavishnu Orchestra guitar virtuoso, John McLaughlin...

A tasty haul indeed...

Prior to Anne being taken ill, the arrangements decided upon had been to head back, post library, to Crispycat Towers for coffee and cakes and to listen to suitably weird music but, with Anne ex-communicado, we took sustenance at a café...

...this café, once the art gallery where my work was displayed in the summer of 1993 – but I think I’ve mentioned that here before...

I may well be exhibiting again soon but plans are at an embryonic stage...

Post coffee, food and much nattering, I gave Phil a lift home, carrying as he was, a sub-woofer for his hi-fi...

Back at CC Towers, Mr Schulze was enjoyed so much that, while Annie continued to sleep, the afternoon was spent downloading various albums by our teutonic friend – “Irrlicht” (1972), “Cyborg” (1973), “Blackdance” (1974), “Picture Music” (1975), “Moondawn” (1976), “Live in Dresden” (1990) and “Big in Japan” (2010)...

Now I’m looking forward to making my way through those...

His music reminded me of a Dutch guy from whom I purchased some discs a good few years ago, one Matthew Florianz...

I looked him up and found he released a new LP last year and was offering free downloads of that and his previous work from 2008 – I partook of both (making a donation) and splendid ambient soundscapes they are too – much recommended if you enjoy Eno’s “On Land” or indeed his work with Harold Budd...

In the garden, I noted the Splinterheart Cover stars are making a comeback...

Around five, just as I was about to call sister Pam, she phoned us and Anne picked up – her first sign of life of the day...

All in all, we spent around an hour chatting to Pam and she sounded great – we’re looking forward to visiting next weekend, by which time she will be at the end of her first week of concurrent radio and chemo therapy...

Anne managed to get downstairs for some TV in the evening, Ade Edmondson and Toyah (with Robert Fripp supporting prominently) on “Let’s Dance for Red Nose Day”, followed by some Tivo’d stuff - two “CSI”’s and tonight’s “TV Burp”...

Some final blogging and listening and another Saturday gone...

First day of the seventh year...

Highlight of the Day : Rediscovering Matthew Florianz...
