Up at the ungodly our of 4:15 am and out into the cold before 5...

Down the road to the airport bus...

To Hemel Hempstead today for a weekend with sister Pam...

As ever, an annoying ritual re security - truly, the terrorists have won...

A lovely pain au chocolat and americano soon wiped the experience from my mind and a short, uneventful flight ensued...

We took off in the rain...

...flew close to the sun...

...and landed to a reasonable day weather wise in comparison with forecasts for deep snow in Edinburgh later today/overnight...

Tasty wee blue Fiat Punto collected, we arrived at Pam's shortly before nine...

She looked great and was feeling good too - only numerous bouts of vomiting on Monday have marred her first week of chemo and radiotherapy to treat her illness...

She proudly showed us her new juicer...

We left for London just before 11...

...to make the now familiar journey to the Royal Free at Hampstead...

To the Department of Academic Oncology for Pam to undergo her radiotherapy for today, the chemo tablet having been taken this morning at 7:30...

She was gone for less than 10 mminutes and returned with the pattern of the mask, used to restrain her head and ensure no "good" parts of her brain are burned, imprinted on her face...

Over the road to one of the many little cafes around the hospital, Polly's, where we enjoyed a drink and a cake...

...followed by a walk on Hampstead Heath...

In a nearby charity shop, 2 CDs were acquired...

I believe I may already have the disc of Nyman's quartets 1-3...

Back to the car and we drove to the market town of St Albans and had a wander around...

A late lunch was enjoyed (although marred at points by the screaming children of some sort of mothers' club at a nearby table)...

Then, home for some relaxation before writing up a couple of shopping lists, a general one for Pam and ingredients for Anne to make her tasty red Thai Chicken Curry for dinner this evening...

Correspondence with the Capital Models chums, a possible future sounds very interesting indeed although it may not necessarily be Capital Models...

To Tesco to shop - and Pam bumped into a couple of chums, her hairdresser, Kay and recently divorced attractive young lady, Sarah...

In the evening, relaxing...

The Red Thai Chicken Curry was up to Anne's high standards despite a lack of ginger and with soya sauce replacing fish sauce...

...while we watched "Coronation Street", "Eastenders" and "Benidorm" before heading for bed early after a packed day...

Highlight of the Day : Pam looking and feeling so well...
