A bright cold morning...

This evening, to Glasgow as a guest of chum Kenny and a large Edinburgh based company and Partick Thistle FC to watch "the Jags" play Queen of the South in a re-arranged midweek "six-pointer" at Firhill...

First though, some G&Ts on the train, some Weissbier in All bar One and some Arran Blonde at the ground, along with some tasty nibbles at the buffet...

We were joined by Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paataleinen and former Queens boss, Gordon Chisholm - no doubt looking at players they might wish to sign - though I have no idea for whom Mr C now works post the debacle at Dundee - who lured him from QoS for big bucks and promptly went into administration...

It was absolutely freezing and, while we were kind of covered by the roof of the stand, the players themselves were lashed with bitterly cold rain, driven by a wild wind...

Partick deserved their one goal lead at half time - their fans would tell you it was a first time volley of almost a Brazilian nature - I would term it a mishit first time cross...

Coffee and pies at half time...

In the second half, Queens did more of the pressing and were an inch away from equalising when the ball trickled tantilisingly towards the empty net following a goalmouth encounter between Alan "Magic" Johnson and the Jags' goalie, only to be cleared off the line at the last second and I retook my seat, cursing...

Typically, two minutes later it was 2-0 - within a minute 2-1 (well worked goal of course) and, within another minute, 3-1 with a couple of minutes to go...

A taxi back to Buchanan Street and the train home...

Airport bus to the bottom of Crispycat Hill, a lift up the road from the Exec Producer and home by 11pm..

A good night, despite Queens going down...

Highlight of the Day : Footie...
